Hey I've got a 1984 Mustang GT 5.0 bored to a 306, 3.55 Detroit Locker posi rear end, and King Cobra clutch...I'm looking to buy a new shifter because the one in it now is garbage. It is supposedly a Steeda short throw although it has a Hurst knob on it and just feels wrong. Reverse is the worst gear to get it into and 2nd is kinda fishy. I was thinkin about going with a Ford Racing Pro-5.0 shifter although others come into consideration like the B&M Ripper, etc. If you have any suggestions on how good the Pro-5.0 is or which other shifter I should get, please let me know, thanks.

I have heard so many realy good things about the MGW shifters that Im led to believe they are probably the best out there, however the pro-5.0 and steeda tri-ax are also very good.

I have the steeda tri-ax, I love it, but I agree with pacecar, I have heard so many good things about the MGW shifter that if I had to do it again, I would probably like to try the MGW, but I got my Tri-Ax before the MGW was even out, so I have no regrets. And if you have a steeda shifter, to make sure of what you have, take out the dust cap and everything, my steeda is polished alluminum(it appears) and says TRI-AX, and I have heard the hurst handle is crap, so maybe b4 you buy a whole shifter, see what you got.

Tri-Ax here & I love it.

MGW are the best from what I catch ..... then comes Steeda Tri-Ax & Pro 5.0. Any of them are WAY better than the stocker, though.

Just installed an MGW on my 91 LX, love it so far. Made a cue ball knob for it!

360* adjustment + cue ball FTW!!
