Shortblock looks sweet...:nice:

stock is ped's .... when upgrading most of us go to stud mount..... Make sure you get a name brand...not all RR's are created equal and can give you geometry issues.

Adjusting stud mount rockers with hydraulic lifters is a piece of cake. You can do it in 15 minutes. You will have no trouble doing this yourself. There are plenty of people on this website that will give you all the info you need to do it.

You'll need to figure out your PR lenght....make sure you get hardened ones for those guide plates...:nice:

Comp cams supplies the rocker adj info with the cam... they also give you the skinny on how to get the proper PR lenght... good instruction pamphlet.

So yesterday I called edelbrock and spoke to a tech about pushrod length and such. Very unhelpful he dident even know what to say. He said that he would call comp cams:shrug: is there a better place to call? maybe ill go with the tfs stage 1 and 1.7s so i can run stock length pusrods.

The average Joe won't know jack about PR lenght, chit you cant get your engine builder to give you that type of info...most don't wanna stick their head out like that, to many variables...Its one of those things you have to verify when building a motor.

Thinking about it I'd bet Kurt is correct with Eddy doing their head around using the stock lenght PRs.

If your ready to build just mock it up and check a stock PR and see what gives, you'll know instantly if its wrong.

Building motor involves alot of checking...making sure your oil pick up tube is correct when the pans on....degreeing the cam (can throw off your PR lenght) verifying PR lenght, check PV clearance... This is stuff your builder would normally do...if your the builder then your it....:D

We can assist with all this type of stuff and give you links...its part of the learning curve.

Never assume any particular rod length will work. The deck has been machined and you are getting new heads. The deck heights should be known and you can calculate the rod length, but check it anyway. Buy an adjustable pushrod. They aren't too expensive. By the time you're done with this and you've done it right, you'll be happy you did it yourself. Unless it explodes, then you'll be pissed.

If you have a stock pushrod hanging around, just use it for the test. It doesn't need to be hardened pushrod for the test. Mark the top of the valve with a magic marker., and assemble one rocker and preload it. Turn the engine over so that it goes through one cycle, and then pull the rocker off. The top of the valve should be distinctly rubbed off in the center. Odds are the stock length are going to do it. I've done a good number of Edelbrock heads in my day, and they have all come up stock pushrod length.

sweet that link helps alot and ive been readin some other fourms and everybody else says that the majority of edelbrock heads do use the stock length. I know this is probly a stupid question but bare with me but what does the cam and push rods have in common:shrug: sorry lol
But on a side note i got oiling system stuff such as my pan and other goods:D Just waitin for sunday to put everything on.
