Hello everyone!! I've been lurking for the past couple days, really enjoy the site, tons of good stuff going on here.

Now to my question: I've done a quick search to answer my question but didn't find anything. I've recently gotten a major hard on for a S-197 GT. I've found the one that I want (Grey '05 GT 5-speed w/ 24,000 miles) my only concern is fuel milage. EPA standards are a guess at best and I'm just wondering what you guys get from fairly stock GT's. I drive ~60 miles round trip to work everyday so I'm looking for something decent on fuel.

I know if I want to save money on gas I should get an Aveo....not gonna happen. I've been driving a Scion tC for the past 6 months and feel like a friggin women every time I get in. My ride before that was a Vortech blown '97 Kenny Brown Thunderbird and needless to say 425 hp at the wheels kinda spoilt (sp?) me.

Any help is appreciated, and please be nice....I'm still a virgin around here. :)

Welcome.

It all depends on the road conditions, hills, traffic etc.

On the freeway you can see normally from 24 to 28 MPG relatively consistantly more if you keep it down (which hardly ever happens anyway).

Welcome to the site!

If I really try I can see around 24mpg in my 7 mile 'country road' commute to work, but my norm lately has been 21mpg.

The absolute best I've managed so far is 29.2 mpg on a long (600+ mile) trip from Ohio. The worst I've seen was mid/high teens. I was with some friends and we were screwing around both on the way to & from track.

Thanx for the replys guys!! I'm looking to stay in the mid 20's if possible. My tC is averaging 26, so I'm pretty sure I could handle 24. I live in Edmond, OK and work in west Oklahoma City so hills aren't a problem, plus I take a turnpike to and from and average about 75-80 mph both ways, so I'm thinking 24-26 mpg is doable.

I'm going to test drive it during my lunch break. I will report back this afternoon. Even if I don't like this one, come hell or high water, I will have a GT by the end of the month!!!

I have been driving my stock '07 GT daily from Kansas City to St. Joseph, 64 miles each way, on interstate. At 75 mph on cruise control I average 22-24 mpg, mainly depending on wind. I also have the 3.73 rear end and manual transmission.

The best mileage that I have seen was last summer in Colorado, I had one tank at 29 mpg in the mountains. I attribute that to the altitude and the roads we were on were good pavement, but so curvy that 50 mph was pushing it in some places.

Even if Mustangs only get high teens, the tc still needs to go..

With the Shelby, I get about 22-23, depending on how hard I try. When premium (regular mustangs take regular) was close to $5, I paid attention.. Now that it's below $4, I have been playing a bit more than usual.

I know of guys on the Shelby forum getting better than 22-23.. but my commute to school has 2 inclines both ways.. it kills my mileage. :notnice:

Don't support toyota.. get yourself some american muscle..:)
