Whats up guys, Ive been lurking around here for a few months.....Ive got a 99 Cobra convertible, (my 2nd one in a month, thanks to a chevy Tahoe Nice to meet you guys, looking forward to talking with everyone on the site...

PS. just curious...what would you guys do. Trade the 99 vert w 10K cash to get an 04 cobra vert, or keep the 99 and do about 5K in mods...I thought the 03-04s require less *parts* to mod since they are already supercharged, but I dont know enough about them, yet..I am a former bowtie guy that has turned his back on GM... Im looking to get my 99 into the 450HP range, and figure i can do it with 5K....anyways, let me know what you think! thanks in advance!

Welcome. As far as your question goes, I would go with the trade in if money is not an issue. You will see your 450 hp goal much easier this way and still have a warranty, where if you go s/c on your 99', you are taking a chance with the stock internals at 450hp. You could build a bullitproof bottom end on the 99, but that will cost you some nice scratch. The s/c cobra's are the way to go IMO.

Trade it in, you will spend way to much money trying to get your car to even run w/ an 03/04. I think I'm gonna get a used 03 but I know I'm gonna lose alot of $$ on the trade in. (aftermarket parts dont up you resale value) But I want that blower!!

Thanks for all the replies! do 03s have forged interals as well, or just the 04?
