Just put the LRS lenses on the car and don't look back.

I posted side by sides of the LRS stuff with brand new NOS headlights a year or so ago in my thread and they looked virtually identical. Fit was fine on the car. I'm happy enough with them that the NOS lights are still in the box waiting for me to toss them back on ebay on of these days. Honestly, I have a suspicion the later NOS lights (made in the late 2000's according to the date code stickers on the box) are probably made by the same vendor making the repops. They looked that similar.

I don't drive at night or in the rain, but the lights look as good as when I installed them.

Over all I am happy with the LMR headlights. I thought it was a little lame that they didn’t come with new nuts for the studs, or the rubber grommet around the headlights, but my old stuff was all in good reusable condition.

One note, I had to take a file and file the extra plastic from the bottoms of the lights to make them cleaner. They bothered the hell out of me out of the box. Here is one example of before and after.

It only took a few minutes to do and really helped them look higher quality.

The install fit on the car was A Ok. I just need to aim my headlights and I’ll be done.

I have an issue with drivers side marker light, need to shave the fender side down to fit good. Was that the side you had trouble with?

They fit fine without the shaving. I just did it to make them look nicer.

Hey Nick,

Did you ever try mounting the 2003 Cobra rear bumper cover? I’m going to be doing the front to my car, but the rear covers are pretty expensive and hate to throw $700 away if the general shape of the 03 is so far off it can’t be done.

I never did try it. The bumper I obtained for the test had too much damage and wouldn’t hold its normal shape.

I found the shade of gray I wanted to use on my lower GT plastics, and it happens to be the same shade as my upper intake. Matchy matchy! Started with the rear bumper because it looked horrible. All was going well in my sweet paint booth.

Until I got too happy in one spot apparently. What a buzz kill!

I am not going to screw myself like I normally do and touch it too soon. I’m going to let it dry over night, lightly sand the whole bumper tomorrow, and give it a full final coat.

Doesn’t need to be perfect. I didn’t even use any high build primer as I did on the front bumper. This car is a 20 ft car, and probably never will be any better. No sense in getting too involved in the paint.

Better read the recoat window. Certain rattle can paints do not like being recoated after they dry, and could ruin the whole thing if you're not careful.

Who are we kidding. I don’t have patience to wait until tomorrow. It’s all done aside for the molding stripe, but I want to put some flat bracing behind the rear bumper and rear fender extension. You can see the waviness it has. Need to fix that.

As far as wavy, I am talking about the sides. Where the back bumper meets the GT fender extension. I want it flatter.

I am debating building a discrete rear diffuser actually. ABS plastic sheet isn’t cheap though. We’ll see what I come up with.

Yeah I agree that stuff isnt cheap at all. I am looking at adding an integrated front splitter and radiator boxing combo to mine too

maybe you could glue a flat piece of metal to the underside where the waves are? I'm contemplating that on my 89 because the rear cover has that sag across the top,

Hey mike, you put a picture of a pad you could buy for the top of the rear bumper in my thread awhile back.

Yeah, I need that as well as what Thief is talking about. I bought some PBA, so the plan for now is to do exactly what he mentioned. For the sides of the back bumper I will be glueing metal pieces to the back side to hold them flatter. As for the top, that may just work there as well, but if Dave scrounges up that bumper pad, I will probably buy one since I have the rear bumper mostly off right now anyway.

Bought it Dave. Gonna stop at Home Depot and get some flat metal brackets for the sides of the bumper on my way home. Should have her all fixed up soon if my wife allows me the time to do it.
