Nick's "lvndpst" Restoration (and Slight Modification) Thread

I haven't gotten that far yet on my car. On my LX bumper it comes into the wheel well a little.

I'm going to use the ultra clear headlight set for Dusty. The chrome ribs inside the headlight buckets match the cobra fog lights very well. Haven't done that yet either. Lol

In a couple weeks I'll be back at it full force. Days get longer and temps get warmer...wooohooo!

Ah, here I thought your new bumper wouldnt quite reach the wheel wells. Weird that there is that much of a difference between the LX and GT front bumpers. Sounds like you may have to section a bit out, and I do not envy that.

I caved in and bought a GT40 tubular intake. I have always liked them, and I can use it on the engine I plan to put in the car later with the exception of needing a different lower. So @madmike1157 called it, I simply just wasnt able to leave it stock. It all started with the 5 lug brake set up, damn it! I was going to browse the junk yards for a lower to save some dough, but found a cheap lower online with the EGR accommodation, and its already tapped for the correct mustang sensors. Both upper and lower need cleaned and painted, so I will post pics of that when they arrive and I get started on it. It will be the ONLY engine mod I do besides replacing the harmonic balancer with a Pioneer that I already have sitting on a shelf.

I think I've heard that before.

I will do what is necessary to make the tubular intake work on my stock motor, and make the internal EGR function properly. After that, no more engine parts. Plan is to move to a 351W based engine in the future, and I have learned that I need to plan to buy everything one time. 3rd kid is due in two weeks, so funds are limited.

School me, please. I have never done this swap, and when I put a Trickflow set up on my '95, I simply turned off the EGR function via tune.

Well you need a EGR spacer to support the throttle cable. You can use the stock one, but I believe it's 60mm or so. But kinda defeats the whole point of the gt40 intake. You can prob pick up a used 75mm for cheap on eBay. They are $100 new and $30-40 used.

I'd do an explorer 65mm TB, SN95 70mm maf and try and find a used 75mm EGR. All very stockish parts

Ok, so you are talking about getting max performance out of the intake. Honestly, for now I was just doing it for the style. Planned on making a bracket to make the linkage work, but can certainly look for a cheap EGR spacer. For $40 or less, that will be worth not making a bracket. As far as the MAF, I will wait until the day comes to make power with more cubes, and match all my parts at that time.

Well sir, the upper arrived today. Similar to Mike, Im not in much of a mood to start working on sanding it for a new paint job.
