No coolant circulation 99 cobra

Hi all,
My cars coolant is not circulating. I have already replaced the thermostat and waterpump. The heater blows cold air. And the temp gauge goes into the upper high range of hot. The upper radiator hose gets warm and the lower hose stays cold. The water in the overflow reservoir stays cold. Could it be that I have a clogged hose or a bad heater core. I'm stumped. Please help.

It's my understanding these cars cooling systems have to be bled when they're refilled. Not quite clear on how.

Here's something I found on another site. When the engine is cold, locate the highest point in the system and fill it with water. I have the 4 valve Cobra discussed below, with the cap in the crossover pipe.

Air locks in the cooling system are becoming increasingly more difficult to correct. Ford has been living with a couple of problem systems-the 4.6-liter V8 in the big sedans, Mustang and Mark VIII, and the 3.0-liter V6 in the Nissan-designed (but Ford-built) Mercury Villager/Nissan Quest. Ford discussed the issues in detail at the NARSA meeting, and offered its "better ideas."

The 4.6 two-valve engine coolant fill problem was "fixed" by moving the pressurized reservoir to the fan shroud, where it's at the high point of the system. The 4.6 four-valve engine still has a coolant crossover pipe at the top front of the engine, and you have to remove the plug in that pipe and fill the engine through the opening. If you simply pour coolant into the reservoir, it won't fill the engine. And despite the fact that the reservoir is pressurized, it may take forever to burp. The engine will overheat (and the heater won't work well in winter).

i usually park it on a hill and let it heat up with the heater blowing on full blast and keep on filling it while squeezing the main rad hose does the trick for me..

Cool, I bled my coolant lines and got all the air out.
All is good now.
