Got a 94 with a 5.0 transplant. Key on- all gauges, radio, windows etc work. Soon as i turn it to start, all dies, no click, nothing. Pulled starter guy(oreillys) said it did what it should do but the machine didn't pass it(he says its funny that way). i've replaced or improved both Pos & Neg cables. besides pulling it again to bench test myself, any other ideas?
One other strange thing Fuse #4 SRS module blows no matter what amp fuse goes in.
Thanks

Does the ground from the battery go from the battery to the engine block and then to the apron where the battery sits? Sounds like an insufficient ground. Good luck.

Is this a recent motor swap? Some wiring get goobered up somehow? Blowing fuses like that makes me thinks a short or other wiring issue somewhere.

Take a DVM (digital volt meter) and attach the leads to the battery, read static voltage, now what does it read when you turn the key to start?

originally went from the battery to the starter mount bolt. Deleted that and now goes from battery to engine block around #5 Also has smaller wire that are bolted to core support. Thinking of adding a ground strap to starter bolt.

Sounds like you need a local auto parts store battery load test. Let us know what you discover. Good luck.

Or you could have a direct short to ground when trying to crank.

Battery & starter both checked out OK. Not getting power from the solenoid wire, chasing that next. Anyone ever use a OBDII adapter cable to read codes from this OBDI?

Me thinks a OBD11 scanner will not work on OBD1
We did have a Snapon scanner that read both

Found a bad connection in the starter connector by the battery just before it goes into the harness by the battery, still working on it.
Ordered the OBD adapter cable, should get in a few days. No clutch(AODE). Will keep you posted.
