No MAF?

O.k. this is probably a newbie question. Reading article after article seeing 'Stangs both forced induction and NA, I see their intake systems without MAF sensor. Most don't say anything about having some fancy computer setup. Do they just have a great tune? Just wondering because I am going to start with an engine swap here soon and trying to get everything figured out. I plan on a 347 stroker with probably a Vortech supercharger, looking at around 10 psi or so. I want this thing to run flawlessly of course but don't want to go overboard with unneccessary iginition, computer, etc... Any opinions or help would be greatly appreciated. Car will be driven 75% street if that helps.

There are SD and MAF based stangs. SD-based EECs don't use a MAF. Also, some people put the MAF inside the fender-well (a bad idea since they can't get a good *even* flow from the filter to the MAF in that limited space).

I knew about the SD and MAF, I did the conversion on my '86 to MAF. It was great. It seems like it is pretty high HP cars and ones done up really nice that I see without the MAF. They are also on the ones that came with MAF so i don't know why they would go to SD since MAF seems so much better

So, here's my plan and I would like to here some opinions on what size and make of MAF to run, and cam, and injectors, and tb size 347 stroker, AFR 185 heads, cam (dunno yet), Holley Systemax intake, TB (not sure what size yet), injectors (not sure what size yet), and top it off with a supercharger with about 10 psi. I will probably run the ignition I have now if it is recommmended. I am running the MSD 6AL box, pro-billet distributor, blaster 2 coil. Thanks.
