I used to think automatics were okay for DD's and manuals better suited for fun; after the TurdBird's 4th gear started dropping out on me randomly on the highway, I've decided that manual trannies are the ONLY way to go in either case. Simplicity =

i did the pedals one weekend... 5 hours.. lots of breaks (florida heat)

tranny swap the next took about 11hrs... with just me doing all the work... and with lots of breaks again...

then about 1.5hrs adjusting the clutch...

Do you have any major automotive experience? I'm doing the swap next year and I hear it is not too difficult.

I did the swap in 3 days/nights working a few hours a night. This was when I was 17 with not as much experience as I have now. I feared the pedals, because everyone made it sound terrible, but it wasn't all bad.
