I just purchased a set of brand new Summit roller lifters for a stock 302. I also changed heads(AFR 165) and cam(Anderson Ford N-41), I did check the pushrod length and all that good stuff. I have had a friend who works for Bill Mitchell(Hardcore Racing Products) come out and do the valve adjustment for me. But I am still getting crazy chatter from the valves. Now I know some lifters are just noisy, so do I have noisy ones or is something wrong and my car wants to explode haha? Any help or insight would be great, thank you.

Oh and I did check for exhaust leaks at the headers, because we all know how crafty they are haha.

I already run on 93 octane, always have. The heads are 61cc. And yes I have 1.6 Comp cam roller rockers (the red ones)

the roller rockers make a slight chatter. is the chatter constant or does it get more aggressive if you put the car under load? and 61cc heads (depending on pistons) should cause you any compression problems if you are running 93.

It is a constant chatter. It doesn't increase with rpm at least I don't hear it while driving or reving. And you mean I SHOULDN'T have any compression problems with 93 octane right?

sorry, thats correct you shouldnt. and if the noise is constant and does not increase with load, it is probably your roller rockers. that isnt a big issue, as its a common thing.

Thanks for your help, I'll run the car for its 500 mile breakin period and see if the problem continues or worsens. Hopfully it isn't anything major. I just don't understand where I could have went wrong. So maybe your right and it is my rockers. But thank you very much.
