Novi 1000, to buy or not to buy...

I looked up the Blowzilla, NICE, but twice the price...($1,640 vs. $3,299) I might have to wait for it though. I guess this will partly depend on how irratating my buddy becomes with his 347. Maybe another year and I could buy Blowzilla instead, if I can hold out that long.... I notice the Novi 1000 doesn't hit good boost until 3000rpm, but that's cool cause my cam (Extreme Energy Comp Cam 35-328-8) doesn't really kick in good till then either. So it's kind of a good match then.

Are novi 1000's about the same as an sc trim? By the way my new V1 S trim should be here in about a day or so!!

The Vortech sc-trim is capable of more boost and cfm than the Novi 1k if you plan on changing pullies later on. sc-trim has a max boost of 20psi and 1000cfm at 53,000rpm impeller speed and supports up to 680 horsepower. The Novi 1k is capable of 850cfm and supports up to 500 horse power.
I think the Novi 2000 is the best bang for the buck.

I havent seen a vortech sc trim running 20 psi, in my life. But Ive seen plently of N1ks running 480-500 rwhp, so you do the math on how vortech/paxton marketed these things. Id say the N1k is the same or better than a SC trim. It comes with better parts too. But actual blowerwise, they are both good.

No doubt a Blowzilla would be the most fun. But for those concerned about cost (it seems to be alot of us in this thread) you can be running 120+ traps with a full tune and great street manners for cheaper.

I agree with the N2k being the best bang for the buck, if big 500+ HP is what you want. You can pick those up for 2500 new and will support 900HP

My friends car runs 10-11 psi by just swapping the factory 6inch crank pulley to a 7 inch pulley. That is still using the 3.33 blower pulley and 6 rib belt on his sc-trim running the blower impeller at 43,500 rpm at 6k engine rpm. There is plenty more in it with a max rpm of 53,000 rpm. Change to an 8 rib or 10 rib belt and swap the blower pulley and I know the sc-trim would spank the Novi 1k. I still have the stock pulleys on mine but will be changing to a 10 rib setup when I pulley it for more boost. Now don't get me wrong, I really like the Novi 1k. It was a hard decision for me between the Novi 1k and the Vortech sc-trim but I chose the one that would be cheaper to upgrade in the future. Actually if I had it to do over again I would have bought the Novi 2000. By the time you get ignition components, bypass valve and fuel pump they all cost about the same.

Quiet is a bonus with me! Sometimes I take it for an hour or drive just to have some fun, and I think that cruising down the road and hearing a lot of noise would get old really quick. Even my exhaust gets on my nerves after cruising in 5th awhile, love it in the lower gears though. :D

Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel. Plus, the less prepared the guy in the next lane is, the better. :D Seriously though, I'm just looking for ideas for my daily driver (sleeper) I plan on building. A low-buck s/c might be the way to go since I really don't want to start tearing into the engine.

I have an idea. Maybe Superchargers4less will work a mulipurchase discount of some kind if we get a couple other Stangers together and offer them a group purchase if they give us like 10% off or a free upgrade or something?

Anybody out there think this is worth a try?

Do not order from Superchargers4less, they screwed up my Novi 1000 order so many times it's not even funny. First the moron there sent it from Paxton to HIS house rather than MY house (don't ask how or why), then he let it sit in his garage for like 2 weeks before trying to mail it to me. After over a month went by I called Paxton and they said that the post office was sending it back to them because it was mailed to the wrong address. They said they were going to send it back to me, but I told them to keep it cause over a month and a half had already went by and I didn't really want to deal with any more crap. I then had to pay Superchargers4less a 5% restock fee, which out of $1700 comes out to be quite a bit. I had to pay the restock fee even though Paxton were actually the ones who sent the supercharger and had it sitting in their warehouse when I cancelled the order. It was complete BS. I recommend JDsperformance.com, he can match any prices and he is a good guy! :nice:

I'd love to get a discount on a group deal. I wonder how many would need to be bought to make a decent difference in price? So let me get this straight, the N1k is stealth? Can I get one thats non-stealth?

Ok, JD's wants $1,770 for them. Suprerchargesonline wants $1,749, but free shipping.

Here's a plan. Whether you like the Novi 1000 (looks like$1,640 to $1,749) for a stealthy system, or the ProCharger (I think $2,250? was quoted - info at work) for a system with a noticable sound and more boost, or any other system out there. There is strength in numbers.

Every one interested PM me or respond to this thread with your contact info and system you want to get. The key point is that I represent as many people as possible because sales is a numbers game.

If we had a group of like even 10 Stangers wanting S/C's then we'd have something to deal with. I really think we could all get some free upgrades! Later tonight I'll post another thread with a topic of "Group S/C purchace opportunity" or something like that. Places want to sell these things, and with enough people to buy at once we could have a good bargining force.

You have a PM.

Man, if you can get a procharger for $2250 you would be crazy to get the Novi 1k. More than likely the Procharger will come with an auxilary fuel pump, bypass valve and a BTM. By the time you buy these parts to go with the Novi 1k you will be at or over that price. If you plan on running anything over 5psi or if your car is already modified you will need these other parts. Sorry to hear you had bad luck with superchargers4less.com I bought my blower there and several of my friends also. I was in constant touch with the owner through email to make sure there were no mistakes. I received the supercharger kit approx 1 week from the time I ordered it. The price of my Vortech sc-trim was $1640 + $179 to upgrade to the aluminum discharge tube with bypass valve and tubing.

what compaines besides KB sell an entire kit down to the FP and injectors, i want to buy it all in one shot, as well i herd if you have the ac delete kit where the ps pump moves up in its place you will have a problem. With out the A/C you'll be getting the tensioner coming down and hitting the water pump pulley. what is the deal with this???

some people get it to work and others don't when it comes to the ford motorsport a/c delete and a supercharger. I switched out my motorsport delete for a UPR delete so I could use a factory lenth belt. I was always having belt issues even when it was naturally aspirated with the fms delete kit. The belt would fit good at first but after a few months it would stretch and start to touch at the water pump pulley. I guess I could have modified the bracket to get the clearance needed but the UPR pulley is just so simpler to use.
