o/r x-pipe or h-pipe, which is better?

I have a question...How do yah pass inspection with O/R stuff?

I got the Cat back flowmasters I think 2 chamber, and I pass inspection just fine. I do want headers and a O/R H pipe, but that would do me in with inspection right?

I'm gonna slap on some FFRP 3.73 gears and if I can work around the inspection, get the Mac shortie headers with an o/r H pipe this spring.

If you have emissions testing in your area ..... you will not be able to pass. You will have to swap the stocker back on for testing .... unless you get an aftermarket catted pipe.

If you don't have emissions testing .... there will probably still be a "visual" test. If they don't see cats, no pass. But you can find people that don't even look .... or if they do, they don't care & pass you anyway.

I'm from NYC and we have emissions testing. I can't believe some states don't have emissions test.

It looks like I'm stuck with the cat back exhaust, and I dont think headers without the H or X pipe is worth it.

You can always do like on of our Fox guys did ..... just weld the cat covers to an O/R pipe to make it "look" like it has cats. But then you still have to worry about "passing". You can do it, though, if your car is tuned really good & you have good o2's & stuff.

I don't think the law on emissions is really by state anymore. I thinks it's going by counties (at least NC does this). I think eventually .... it will be EVERYWHERE, though.

Thanks for your opinions everybody, it is appreciated. I'm in Wyoming and we no emissons law at all, yet i should say.I like the sound of the h-pipe but was also thinking would I get close to the same result by hollowing out the cats? Then it would look stock for visual inspection, if we ever have emissins laws here. Thanks again

Hollowing out the cats will not give the same sound. Replacing that section with new pipe might...but then at that point, you might as well just keep your stock piece whole and buy a new off road piece. Just hang on to your stock piece just incase the laws change in the future.
