Odometer Chip - Where is it Located?

I know similar questions have been posted hundreds of times here, but I just have a more specific question.

I understand the MILEAGE is stored in the Gauge Cluster, now, is it stored on the CIRCUIT BOARD or is it stored in the ODOMETER DISPLAY BOARD??

Does anyone know the answer to that?
If so, post up, I need to urgently know.
