Starting to build a game plan for my daily driver. Here are my thoughts and questions. Hopefully many of you can help. I havent been able to find a solution to all my questions within the old posts. If I overlooked something, I appologize.
98 2V short block with the intent to increase LOW RPM torque and HP while maintaining throttle response. I dont wind this thing up past 5200 anyway and I cruise the highways at 2000rpm in 5th. This is my Daily Driver and I just want more bottom end.
The game plan at this point:
Install Ported PI heads and intake. Liking what I see with the Accufab 75MM throttle body and elbow. Finishing off the top end work with some MILD Crower cams and some adjustable cam gears to time the new parts.
1: Will the OE PCM be capable of handling these upgrades? They are not deviating far from stock.
2. Has anyone had any issues with what I have described?
3. When timing the 2 camshafts: Degree to a specific point on each cam or just divide until they are at the same point? EX: Degree each cam to 113 degree lobe centers OR degree each cam until they share the same lobe centers?
