I don't dislike Jr (I admit, there was some dislike in the past), I just really hate his fans. It seems that if you go to a race, and wore anything Hendricks, you were ridiculed. It really made the experience less enjoyable. It's the reason I swore I would never go back to Dega.

I have noticed a change since he joined HMS. I even saw the typical shirtless rednecks sitting a section over cheering on the 48 at AMS last race. I was shocked (they had 88 hats on and 88 shirts were somewhere )

I don't really care anymore. I don't like or dislike him. He's just another upper-midpack racer who has had some really good years in the past. If he doesn't figure out how to finish a race this season, I don't see him making the chase. He should have taken Grubb as a crew chief instead of Eury Jr. I think he would have had more success last season and would have been a contender this season.

No one hates Jr.

It's that we like other drivers better.

Not Worshiping at the Altar of Jr. is not the same as hate.

It's because he's shoved down our throat. Busch wins, we see a lot of him. Edwards wins, we see a lot of him. Kenseth wins, we see a little of him. Jr opens a bar, lives in a trailer, goes for a jog, etc., we see a lot of him. I think he has earned his place in Cup, but not his following. Only 2 people have ever won a championship past their 9th full season, and both of them were legitimate contenders for several years before they did it. I don't see him doing it.

I think a lot of you are just butt hurt because Jr. grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth. Is it his fault his daddy was famous? Is it his fault he was provided the opportunity of a lifetime because he was born into a racing family?

I think all of you who continually chastize Earnhardt are just jealous because he's been voted as the MOST POPULAR driver in the series for 5 years running.

Y'all need to just get over it...

I could refute that using facts that prove otherwise, but I'm sure you would still feel the same way so why bother.

The reason why Jr. is forced down your throat is because he keeps getting voted fan favorite. Like the wise old black man say... hate da game, not da playa.

Go for it!

Oh, one quick question....

Has Dale Earnhardt Jr ever won a Winston Cup/Nextel Cup/Sprint Cup Championship in NASCAR?

sure he is a decent driver, but he isn't on the level with Stewart, Johnson, Gordon, Kennesth, Edwards ect.

I know Edwards hasn't won a Cup series championship either, but he is always very competitive and one of the elite.

I like Jr. actually, seems like a really nice guy. That doesn't make him one of the great drivers, he is on the same level as guys like Khane, Mears, Harvick ect.

So he's a decent driver, but not a good driver according to you? I'd say his stats put him in the top 15% of all currently active drivers which in my book is a little better than just "decent".

So because he hasn't won a chapionship yet, but has finished on average in the top 15 every year since he started in 1999, he's still considered just a decent driver? What does that say about Mark Martin, Junior Johnson, Davey Allison, Pete Hamilton, or Harry Gant just to name a few?

I never claimed Jr. was the best driver out there, but I do feel people expect more from him solely because of who his father was. He's not his father, he's not his grandfather, he's Dale Jr., a damn good driver in his own right.

For years now I've seen bench racing as less productive than jacking off but if you feel the need knock (or would it be rub?) yourself out.

That's only because of the Earnhardt name and how there are still people at the Dale Earnhardt Sr. Bar and Grill crying in their beer about how Sr. Killed himself. Sadly they can't figure out thats what Sr. did. And it's not like Sr. didn't get a wake up call the previous season.

But anyhow, the Earnhardt name sells, that's why we see so much of Jr.

Whats "race" got to do with it?

(sorry, couldn't resist the pun)

I'm not saying he isn't a good driver.

Even after seeing the replay of Daytona where Jr had plenty of room to get back in line but took Vickers out instead.

I've never worshiped at the alter of Earnhardt, never had the need to live vicariously through Sr wrecking other drivers.

So when I look at Jr. I look objectively.

Jr.s OK, just not in the same league of ... Others.

I don't really dislike Jr...but he sometimes takes his status and popularity to a point where he thinks he does no wrong. I don't care for Jimmie Johnson for much the same reason although he has gotten a little better in the last fwe seasons..

back to back to back championships can do that to you

So, Carl and Jimmie are both getting off to a slow start. Gordon is doing well, Kennseth is doing well. How long will that last? We all know Matt is a robot, so can he keep it up? Is the top 12 drivers now an indication of things to come in the chase?

I dont dislike him, I just dont like the fact that he is stroked by Nascar for no other reason then his last name being Earnhardt. JR commits a penalty on the track and he gets away w/ it while everyone else is penalized.

He may be a top 15% driver but no one else in that top 15% has Nascar swinging off his nuts as much as he does. Honestly I dont think hes that good of a driver as in indication of last week by making rookie mistakes, its like he has a lapse of judgement b/c his mind is off thinking something completely different then racing

By decent drive I meant he was good...but he is still not on the level with great drivers like Stewart, Johnson, Gordon, Kennesth, Edwards ect.

Okay now back up this nonsense with facts. Show me where Jr. has received preferential treatment from NASCAR. I DOUBLE DARE YOU TO PROVE IT! You love to dog on Jr. and spout a bunch of nonsense, but you never back it up with facts or examples. You have a hard-on for hatin' Jr., face it. If you can't back your allegations up with proof go pound sand somewhere else my friend.

Why? Because he hasn't won a championship? Ridiculous. So where does Mark Martin rank in your NASCAR driver list then?

So Mark is no longer a great driver then in your eyes? I'm just trying to determine what makes someone great and what makes 'em just good in your eyes is all.
