What I have done at the moment is :Wolfe sub frames,Wolfe 10pt cage(will never do that again),TRZ anti roll bar,10gal Fuel cell(custom cage for tank you can't see it in pictures cause of the cardboard template),upper and lower battle boxes (tied into cage)/w custom lower torque box reinforcement.
I'm probably leaving something out...

car is masked off ready for the cage to be painted.I have also cleaned up all floor surface rust and coated with some por15.Subs look sloppy due to the seam sealer floor pan is stitch welded to subs so had to seal them up.

I'm going to run low on money once I get to the motor (typical) so the plan of right now is.Rework my 302,e7 heads (reworked of course)and spray a Zex kit on it for now.Rear end will stay 8.8 with a 31spline Detroit locker,Moser axles,c clip eliminators,ect...I have a TKO 600(going to run it till the case cracks)AJE k member setup. I don't know what is really going to happen my mind keeps changing as time passes.This whole project started with making it a sleeper HAH look how that ended up.

haha, same is happening with me, as I save up more money and start buying stuff my mind keeps changing one what I want to do. Thats part of the process though to say look at what I originally wanted to do and look at what I ended up with. But if you take your time it will come out great either way. I am doing mine opposite from you though haha I am spending the money now in the engine and saving the suspension for last, you are taking the smarter route though haha. Keep us updated.

I'm looking into interior DYE information on this is needed badly,and want to know more about fitting a 15x10 rim with 6.5 b.s with a 28x10.5 Mickey Thompson out back.If someone has pictures please share.

So today I prepped the cage for some attention with the ol rattle can. It won't stop raining and its so damn humid I'm not going to even try to paint hah probably going to have to wipe down with acetone once more when its gets nice out.Anyway I'm going to throw up some pictures of my new seat brackets,and seats(can't see to well covered in *****)I got the rest of the harness tabs welded in. That's all I have for today. Enjoy

Sorry bout how dirty the garage is.I had a donor car and whats left of its on the other side.I NEED MORE STORAGE.

Forgot to mention what color the cage is going to be-Krylon rust tough HAMM-R 9242 Metallic Charcoal gray.I like the look of the stuff.

The car is looking awesome man, it looks like you're making a good solid foundation for when you decide to throw some real power at it.

As for the interior dye, a lot of guys have had good luck with the vinyl dye on 50resto.com. I, however, decided to go with SEM interior trim paint. Professional shops use SEM exclusively for dash color changes. The color that matches the black mustang interior best is called "Landau Black" The paint itself is called SEM Color Coat, you'll also want a few cans of the SEM Sand Free Adhesion Promoter, and the SEM Plastic Prep Spray to get the parts clean. Clean them with dish detergent first, get them with a good grease and wax remover, wash them again, prep spray and tack cloth. I ordered mine from a website called Auto Body Toolmart since there are no SEM distributors in NY state for some reason . Sorry for writing a novel but I hope it helps you out. sweet man,I noticed there is vinyl and lacquer dye now the question is can I spray the whole dash with the vinyl stuff?or do I have to pull the vinyl dash pad,and paint that with vinyl then spray rest of dash with the lacquer. will it all match using the two different cans?

The SEM stuff #15013 be used on both vinyl or plastic pieces ¿? or do they have two different types like 50Resto.com ¿?

For the dash, a little secret was revealed to me by another member on this board named S&B... I'm in the middle of doing it now myself but apparently on a grey/black dash the grey part is painted, so a good paint stripper and some rubbing will get the grey paint off and reveal all black plastic underneath. This can be done on the two sides where the door panels meet the dash. Of course the vents, center console, glove box door, and dash pad will have to be sprayed to match, or you can do like I did and just buy some OEM black interior pieces. I believe the SEM color coat is for vinyl and hard plastics so you should be able to spray both. SEM even has soft vinyl/leather spray that apparently works wonders on faded vinyl/leather seats. Do a little poking around on that Auto Body Toolmart site and click on SEM products and it will give you a list of every product they sell and a short description.

Was using some lacquor thinner, and the black on the black/grey dash is actually painted also, there is like a tan underneath, which is what the spots were, the tan showing through. So Idk if they painted it black before or if the paint is just fading off.

HM..... I believe the thinner is your culprit I heard many horror story's about using thinner in place of a quick wipe with acetone

So the rain slowed down a bit and I decided to paint the cage. I went into a local Auto zone(the few who sell rattle can paint around Chicago),and found out they are throwing out all their Krylon spray cans to be replaced with Rustoleum.That was kinda cool I'm going to go back and see what else is $0.01 and buy it all.O.k well it wasn't free it was actually $0.01.Maybe their VHT is going too

Well,I got my carpet in from ACC.Haven't tried to fit it yet,but looks to be cut short up front.Hope I don't see it when dash is in.Also seems that the factory rubber mat for the drivers heels is pushed off to the left to far.I also noticed no holes are cut for anything that will be a fun job....

anyone know how to take out the door light switches (open the door interior lights come on close them they shut off).I would like to re route some wires.Passenger side already ripped out from previous owner.seems to have 3 pins stuck in a rubber boot... very weird little switch
