Got some new tires on my '89 today and the front left rubs on the front of the fenderwell when I turn full lock to the right. Got to looking and the drivers side wheel looked further forward than passenger side. I measured wheel center to wheel center on each side and the driver's side is approximately 3/4 of an inch further. Is this normal or is it messed up?

When you actually start measuring, you'd be surprised at how assymetrical the older cars were. However, 3/4" seems like a lot to me too. Do you know the history of the car? Is it possible it's been wrecked on the front end, or had some significant suspension damage that wasn't repaired correctly? Your local alignment specialist can probably tell you something about it.

i would say that car has been in a wreck and the k memeber is messed up on it and you need to take it to a good alinment shop and have tem measure it out, i got a buddy that has the same problem and it was a bent k memeber and now he is putting in a tubular k memeber to fix all his problems

When i bought my 86 everything looked fine, it have TRX wheels and tires on it so i never noticed anything till i bought some ponys rims and 250/55's and put them on there. I had a big problem. I had no room on my passenger front tire to move. Come to find out the K Member had been smacked by a curb and cocked it back "hard" had a local shop put the car on a frame rack and they fixed it right up. cost was 258 bucks.
