I have a 95 cobra with edelbrock performer heads, e cam, full msd ignition,75mm mass air with a 65mm throttle body but wiill be getting either 70mm or 75mm with manifold...What upper and lower manifold should i go with? I want my most bang for my buck... im gunna stay N/A so there wont be a supercharger either so i want this to be atleast a decent upgrade and not something that is a lil better then the cobra one.i already have... any suggestions would be great .thanks alot.

In one of the last couple of issues of 5.0 Mustang they tested the latest dual plenum BBK intake against an Edelebrock performer, a GT-40, and a Trick Flow Street. If I remember correctly the GT-40 was within about 3 horsepower of the best ones on the market. I believe the Cobra flows right with a GT-40, so why would you change? For only the chance to pick up maybe 5 horsepower is it worth it?

It blew me away that such a supposedly hightech intake was only a few hp better than the old GT-40.

how is that possible? which intakes was it up against? was the holley systemax or the edelbrock rpm in there?

It was designed really well. The test was against a bbk ssi intake, edelbrock performer, and I think it made the best lowend and midrange hp and tq, while only being down a few hp on top. It was a mild street combo, and different intakes might have done better with a different combo,(more aggressive cam, ect..). The combo had a comp cam, afr 165's, full length headers, ect.. Might be better to port to get those few extra hp, but you could get a different intake if you want, or are going to get a more agressive combo. I believe the gt-40 and cobra have the same lower, different uppers, and flow #'s are close, I think.

Yeah Port the Cobra, it will flow just as well if not better then Trickflow/Edelbrock Intakes and you wont be speding $400+ on a new intake when you already have a decent one.
