I hate people that can't keep their noses out of other peoples business. I had my hatch parked in the street and hadn't gotten it tagged and somebody called the county while I was gone on break from school for a week. Now its gonna cost me $85 to get it back which woulda gone to some UPR coil overs for it when I do the tube chassis in a couple months.

Untagged cars on the street is never good. Always expect everyone to be out to get you and be prepared. Sorry to hear, but $85 doesn't sound all that bad if they towed/stored it...

Not to mention $85 is nothing when your tossing around words like tube chassis...

No doubt... Hopefully they didn't rearrange your core support for you while they tow'd it away.

If it isn't tag'd, it better be out of sight unless you are in an unicorporated area and even then counties are cracking down.

i live in a small town in rural Maryland and I have been unofficially warned about my SVO by my buddy who is a town cop. Put a cover with a lock on it and make sure it is real snug until it is legal.

your lucky someone didnt steal the car, would have been really easy to find with no tags or insurance on it...

Ya it might not have been the best thing to do but I didn't have any place to store it or anybody to carsit for me. And ill be buildin the tube chassis myself so it won't cost nearly as much.

Here the fine is 100 per day and that is even with the vehicle on YOUR property untagged. And it is not a McMansion homeowner type area.

I think it's a double edged sword...

On your hand you have nowhere to store it, and it isn't directly "hurting" anyone. So in your eyes it's mind your own business...

On the other hand your neigbors have to stare at a "useless lawn ornament" blocking their street...

I can see both sides of the story. Sucks for you, and sucks for them! But the law is the law and in this case their side is right with the law. $85 is a small price to pay, get it back, maybe get a portable garage type storage tent and leave it covered?

Just curious, if you've got money for a tube chassis and coilovers ... why didn't you have the money for getting it properly tagged in the first place?
