Yeah that stuff went on pretty easily I was gonna pull them off and spray them but couldnt find the spray kit and just bought the brusk kit. Went on really easy and just taped off the "Cobra" and went back with a detail brush to get between the letters. I did four coats and the gloss is nice and cant see the brashmarks at all Left me with enough paint to do 3 more cars So who wants to come by and paint theirs?

They come painted like that OEM from Ford on the 96-97 wheels.

I think they look better than the 94-95 versions

BTW, i run bullitts normally. I was just getting new tires put on and was just running my 5.0's wheels temporarily.

Yeah but I would of had to remove the pads cause I had to paint the inner part of the holes on the caliper and I couldnt do it without getting some paint on them.
Doesnt really matter since this summer I am putting on FMS x-drilled/slotted rotors and Russel braided lines. At that time I will put on EBC green pads and the holes will be black again

Just a work in progress and I have seen so many beautiful Stangs on here come from a pretty worn out ride and in a couple years I would feel good to have the people I like and respect on here say that about mine, ya know "wow the car has come along way and I have been watching all the progress on it here and it looks killer, good job"
Its small but makes me feel great. Im not in the best health and when I go out and get compliments on her I really feel better because I sprend all my free time on my Cobra. There is alot of blood, sweat and tears in this car and when shes done I want it to be one of thoes ooohhhhh I want your car so bad kinda Stangs

Long way to go, new paint, wheels, suspension, leather, top end rebuild and a Kenny Bell 2.1 supercharger (shootin for 425-450 rwhp) and I will be a happy camper.

Thanks for the compliments one and all

I need to repaint one of my calipers since some how the paint got fried on it. What kit did you use for the paint? I've seen the G2 caliper paint, but $40 seems like a lot for a caliper paint kit.

Looks good I have been planning on painting mine whenever I get a free wknd. What kind of prep work did you do before painting? I know mine have some surface rust on them so they will have to be sanded, i'm looking at getting the dupont kit too.

Suprisingly little prep work. If you have smmoth surface calipers you have to lightly sand them but since most of ours are pourus thats not neede. It comes with an aerosol can of cleaner and you just hose down all the calipers. I then taped off the Cobra letters with a solid strip of tape then went back after I was done painting and used the small brush from my touch up paint and painted betwee the letters. It has a pint of paint so there is plenty but the brush doesnt really last for more than two coats and it starts to leave hairs on the surface so I suggest getting an extra brush. All an all I would give it a 2 on the difficulty meter Twice today I heard someone point at the car and say look at thoes brakes, I assume it was cause they looked good. They coulda then said man that looks rice

What color were the calipers before you painted them red?

Mine are gloss black (i have the brembo Cobra R calipers) and wanted to change them to blue to match my car, but didnt know if blue would cover up the black good enuf to look sharp.

I bought a used pair of plain silver Cobra brakes. Then I bought caliper spray paint and I had primer and clear coat already. I sanded, primer, red, painted letters white, then clear coat. I think it turned out well. Yes I could have just bought red cobra calipers but I got a good deal on the silver ones and I like to do stuff myself. It's a pretty easy job. I painted my GT calipers when they were on my car. I masked everything off with tape and tin foil and sprayed them while they were on my car.
