MAF = Mass Air Flow, refers to the systems that use a MAF sensor to deterimine airflow.

CAI = Cold Air Induction, system that pulls air from outside of the engine compartment where the air is cooler.

With a cold air intake, the MAF is still there, it meters how much air is going into the engine, so the computer can adjust fuel accordingly.

And to add: the fox mustang came from the factory with a CAI.

CAI= a pipe that draws cold air from outside engine bay (aftermarket product)
MAF= tells computer how much air is entering system (factory product)

Most vehicles made usually do draw air into the filter box from outside the engine bay. The difference is aftermarket CAI setups are usually flashier looking, sometimes a larger diameter and many use conical style air filters.

Ok, so if I setup a BBK CAI and a C&L MAF for 24# injectors, I would be ok?

No, I'd be adding 24# since I plan on adding either a nitrous or a blower system in the future.
