Progress Thread Pearl To White - Paint Time

Wish me luck fellas. I prepped the area by cleaning it with some Prep-All then used 3M Adhesive Promoter, I let the moldings sit out in the sun for a couple of hours, used a heat gun on the ends and attached them. Going to leave the tape on for a few days and see what happens. Planning on giving it a good wash this weekend and get the interior all cleaned up.

Good luck! But I say you and that car have been through enough, so I’m hoping they stay right where you put them! Car is looking good!!

Little update: After looking over the car really well I found a lot of areas that had sand marks, imperfections, dirt in the paint and over spray. I was referred to a detailer who does a lot of work for other paint shops on doing their final wet sanding and polishing work. Had him come over to take a look at the car and let me know what he thought and recommended. He pointed a lot of things that I didn't even see. He recommended. doing a light wet sanding since we were not certain on the amount of clear that was applied. And i was pretty certain they didn't use that much clear.

I dropped the car off with him on Sunday and today it will be ready. He called me to let me know that it had a lot of brown overspray on it. Said some areas didn't appear to have that much clear but he was able to get it all cleaned up and looking much better. I'll be picking it up later today and will try to get some pics of it.

Absolutely beautiful! Super bright and super clean. Everything works here. I love the quarter windows w/o the MUSTANG text against this paint color you chose. The window tint, the meats in back, the pony wheels... it's a great combo. I would qualify this as factory+ or "how it should have come from the plant" perfection. To say you've been through a lot to get to this point would be a huge understatement, so I'll just say that the end result is nothing short of stunning. Well done! I keep scrolling back up to look at her again and again!

Can use some advice here. After getting a good look at the car I noticed that the detailer didn't really do the rear bumper. There were some marks on there that appear to be old compound polish that was left from the body shop. I had told him about it prior to dropping it off with him. I took a good picture of the area and sent it to him asking if there is something he can do. He said yes and was supposed to take it back to him this past Saturday. Well since then I have not heard back from him. Text him on what time would be best to drop off and no response. Sent him a text yesterday again and no response. I'm thinking of taking a drive over there to see if he's working outside to talk with him. I'm pretty pissed after paying him almost $500 and he can't even respond back to me.

The parts of the car he did work on look great. But that rear bumper I can certainly tell was not really worked on. It still feels rough to the touch when the rest of the car feels smooth. And can see the old polish compound that is stuck in the "Mustang GT" lettering. Should I try to swing by his place or just let it go and either do it myself or find someone else to get it knocked out.
