fwiw, here is what i am doing ...

351 Windsor block, stroked to 410 ci.
AFR 205cc racing heads
Agressive custom camshaft
Kooks Long Tube headers
Edelbrock Performer intake
All new March pulley brackets and polished accessories (alt, ps pump, ac compressor ...)
Tremec T5 transmission
Spec stage 3 clutch
Staying Fuel Injected
Keeping the AC and power steering
Maximum Motorsports maximum grip full front suspension package
New paint
New leather on the seats
New carpeting
New high def stereo system with subwoofer and all.

When it is done, this bad boy should make 450 horses at the rear wheels. It will also be show worthy.

I figure it is either get a new 05 GT vert or do this. The new GT would run me more than 30K, so this is going to save me a boatload of money, and it will kick the **** out of almost every other car on the road.

a 408 should do MUCH better than 450 at the wheels without even breaking a sweat.

and that 408 is going to rip that trans apart. Running a t-5 on a h/c/i 302 is a potential time bomb, nevermind a 408, I already blew my apart with half the power youre going to make.

Good luck though go easy on it heh.

lol ... i said i'm probably looking at OVER 10 grand ...

i'll be happy if it ends up under 15K. either that or i'll just stop counting there!

either way, i'm still probably at least 10K ahead compared to buying an 05 vert

i wouldn't have even gotten 5K for my car with the motor in the condition it was in.

Its all hit or miss. Rio95 (turboed 500 rwhp) had his t-5 last most this whole driving season before it blew and he drives it hard. He couldnt afford to upgrade so he just picked up another t-5 for a few hundred and this one has lasted several thousand miles already. Im not saying its worth chancing if you can afford to upgrade but if you were they strapped for cash you could use it for awhile. However, clearly in this case its not an issue.

408 looks amazing!!!!!

Explain that one to me..

BlackVert said:
mine is a 408, his is a 418 (pretty sure)
mine has AFR 205s, his has 225s
mine has an eddy performer intake his has a victor efi (pretty sure)
- mine will have a lower rpm range for peak torque

i'm looking for 450+ at the rear wheels and a killer torque curve
his has 450 at the wheels.

other than that, i think they'll be pretty similar

Im assuming you mean the performer rpm intake? Im not sure you'll hit 450rwhp with that setup, but it will make some great torque. Mine's a little soft down low(350rwtq@2200), but I hardly even notice.

yeah, the rpm intake.

do you mean the intake will limit me?

mine is a 100% street car, no track time planned, stoplight to stoplight.

i wanted the power band in the rpm range where i'll be driving 95% of the time

oh man...just got some inspiration to save some money for a 427, Darnit blackvert, making me spend money.....I may go 347 just so I can still use some of the stuff off the 306. I think I know where my tax returns are going

Welp, I guess I'm gonna have to start looking around on this site and hardcore50 to get a decent build sheet going. Tired of this supercharger thing...just want an all motor beast.

That engine looks great and if it's just a daily driver I think ur setup will be great. Let us know the cam specs when u decide on one. Oh yeah, that tremec t5 should hold up nicely

you just gotta love getting those packages in...always brought a smile to my face, and those were little things like the oil seperator and my dizzy. I could only imagine your face getting all the good stuff in.

As far as sound goes do you have any idea what you're doing? I ended up going with 2 alpine E10s (10 inch woofer) with a decent amp that provides more than enough power for them. Also got an alpine head unit. If you're looking for sound quality Alpine has some great stuff...tad expensive though. Just my experiences with that.

and oh yeah....u know you're gonna be pestered about dyno sheets right?

Looks like a dream plan Blackvert. Good luck with it all. Have you sold that supercharger yet?

Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
