BlackVert said:um, it is a tremec tranny rated at 600 torque ...

yeah it is the tremec tko i misspokeAliate X said:A borg warner T-5 is what comes stock in 5.0s.
A tremec T-5 is a little better rated at 300 ftlbs
Tremec 3550's are pretty strong.
Tremec TKO 500/600 is the one that will take 600 ft lbs, a 600 found its way into my car after the T-5 blew up.
450 at the wheels is about 530 at the crank. that is extremely agressive for a 347.Aliate X said:Go search a little on hardcore50.com, 450rwhp can be had out of an aggressive 347. Not trying to be a dick, just telling the truth. 450rwhp out of a 408 is just over 1hp per CI obviously, which isnt that great.
BlackVert said:yeah, the rpm intake.
do you mean the intake will limit me?
mine is a 100% street car, no track time planned, stoplight to stoplight.
i wanted the power band in the rpm range where i'll be driving 95% of the time

Low-5.0 said:Most 400+ engines I've seen on forums put out 450-480rwhp n/a. I know it's easy to get 500+ just by putting in a huge cam, but you sacrifice driveability by doing that. My car runs almost perfect on the stock computer, how many guys with 450rwhp 347's can say that?
So just what exactly is your definition of "MUCH better than 450rwhp"? 500? 550? More?
Aliate X said:The most Ive ever seen out of a 351 based stroker setup was 722rwhp n/a 13:1 compression, yes I know thats not very "streetable" but just using it for an example. Streetability is opinion. I remember when people told me 4.10s and no front swaybar was unstreetable.
1 piece oil pan gasket? u may want to rethink using those things. and i'm sure the $ u spent on those spark plug wire looms could have been better spent elsewhere. i know they're pricey, how much were they?i got ford rubber valvel cover gasgets95cobraguy said:ngk plugs? cork valve cover gaskets?![]()

good call on ditching the cork valve cover gaskets, your saving yourself alot of headache. those things leak. i've had my valve covers off more times than i can remember and i'm still using my factory gaskets without any leaks. i would think the plain jane autolite plugs would be good, did your engine builder or anyone else recommend the ngks?BlackVert said:i got ford rubber valvel cover gasgets
i also got a ford 1 piece oil pan gasget
the looms cost $38, not bad imo
bling is a part of what i am going for ... bad ass both sitting in the parking lot and on the the street
what is wrong with ngk plugs? care to recommend others?
my builder had them on the list of parts he gave me.95cobraguy said:good call on ditching the cork valve cover gaskets, your saving yourself alot of headache. those things leak. i've had my valve covers off more times than i can remember and i'm still using my factory gaskets without any leaks. i would think the plain jane autolite plugs would be good, did your engine builder or anyone else recommend the ngks?
