Hey guys, I am new to this forum and I know I'm probably posting in the wrong place but I just need some quick advice.... I have a V6 Mustang with some minor modifications but am looking to get a quality exhaust system.... something with a deep bassy sound, nothing "rice rocket" like.... Basically, I def wanna turn some heads but I don't want an excessivley loud drone while i'm cruising.... I've been looking at the SLP Loud Mouths and the Magnaflow Stainless Steel Cat-Backs.... Can anyone help??!! I would really really appreciate it!!

I just installed a Magnaflow muffler on my 3.9 today. It could be a little louder but it sounds good, nice deep rumble and not like a rice burner at all and it's not loud in the car at all. I'm sure it would sound a lot better if I didn't have to have the cats in it and ran duals.

2002.... I have the flowmaster dual exhaust & cold air intake on it right now bt it just isn't as loud as i would like it....

If it's a Y-pipe setup, you could cut the midpipes out and have two straight pipes installes. That would make it louder.

As far as mufflers go, depending on what series you have Flowmaster would probably be the loudest. SLP's and glasspacks would more than likely make the car sound like a pissed off bumble bee at any RPM above idle.

With the V6 you really have to find a middle ground between volume and quality. My car with MAC Flowpaths was almost silent at idle but sounded awesome under throttle. Loud at idle will sound like crap at WOT.

I had a 99 Camaro with a 3.8 and a flowmaster 40 series and it sounded like crap at WOT, way too tinny sounding. The Magnaflow makes it sound more like a V8 engine. If I didn't live in Cal. the cats would be gone then it would really sound nice.
