On the back of the heads I, with the help of Yellow1995cobra and a sawzall removed the smog pipe. I need to know what size plug I need to get that will fit in that hole ????

off topic but look at those beautiful Bassani's!! woohoo!!!...94SC50 said:I used a Dremel to cut off the metal hose and then just reversed the metal plugs and I have had no problems at all.

Oh, because it takes work to saw off the pipe, and the result is kinda tacky. The inserts from Ford cost a couple of bucks and are made for the purpose. And once you destroy the thermactor, you would have to pay for a new one if there was ever a reason to reattach it ... and I'm betting it will cost more than a couple bucks.94SC50 said:This did not cost me a cent.![]()
Why pay Ford when this works just perfect.
Yeah the result is tacky and you can't even see them. I will never have to replace it for any reason. I "should" just give up on this hobby b/c I can't afford it. I should sell my car now cuz I need the $$$ the 20K i put in it over the winter has got me broke.HairyCanary said:Oh, because it takes work to saw off the pipe, and the result is kinda tacky. Seriously, there are better ways to save money, if you can't afford a couple bucks for the inserts you probably can't afford this hobby.

You seem a little sensitive about that, I apologize if I offended you. It is my opinion that anyone willing to spend money on their engine should be willing to do it right, and cutting up the thermactor setup to save $2 is pretty ghetto.94SC50 said:Seriously, you should think before you post about someone's financial ability.

Those are not wires, they are vacuum lines, and they operate the valves in the smog equipment. If you remove the smog stuff, I'd seal them.cb18201 said:i want to take my smog junk off too, when i look at the smog hoses and such i see a few electrical wires running into a plastic wire loom from some sort of metal looking canister thing. what do i do with these wires if i take off my smog stuff completly? will it mess anything up in my car like any sensors or somthin, what are the point of these wires anyways?
