Well guys im new to the forum. And sadly im having issues with my mach 1. Long story short, i had to put 87 octane in it because i was low in fuel. *and they were out of everything else* I only put acouple gallons in. Then went and put the better fuel in. Well fast forward aweek. Im driving and on accleration, i feel/hear a pop. I cant tell where it came from. Now when i give the car gas i hear a clicky/chainy sound. Idk what it is? Its not really loud, but its pretty noticiable and driving me crazy! A week prior i also put synthetic oil in it. So thinking its bad gas i put lucas octane booster in it. Sometimes it doesnt seem to make the sound. But 90 percent of the time it does. The sound appears to becoming from behind the engine? Any help would be great. Btw my car only has 48k miles.

Sounds odd. Usually they will run fine with 87 as the ecu will make adjustments. The problem should have also happened alot sooner than a week later. It may even be unrelated to the fuel. Any issues with performance or does it run normal?

What year car are we dealing with? What mods have been done? How does the car drive?
If the car still drives OK, could be bad cats. The sound is the guts of the cat moving around inside.
