Porterfield R4S Brake Upgrade
When you got 400 Horses, stopping power is needed.
After about 48,000 Miles, My front brake pads were ready for replacement. About 48,000 Miles ago I installed 13 inch Cobra Caliper up front with Slotted Rotors and SS lines. Now that the Stock PBR pads were done, it was time for an Upgrade!!!
After MUCH research, I decided to got with Porterfield R4S Carbon Kevlar Brake pads. From all the reviews I have been reading, these brake pads are as good as its gets on the street. Porterfield Brakes are known for being THE BEST in performance. Porterfield is located in Costa Mesa, So i hopped in the stang and took a drive to pick them up in person.
I also Ordered RotorPros.com Slotted Rotors to go with the new pads. To complete the set up I also got some ATE Super Blue brake fluid which the reviews have also been amazing on. Ordered a Motive brake bleeder from jegs to make the process easy cake. Just to make the set up even better, I got some J&M Braided brakes lines for the rear to match the front. I would have gotten MM stainless lines, but MM doesnt make SS lines from the rear of 96-98. the only company that makes Braided rear lines for these cars is J&M.

The pedal is now SUPER Stiff. Its amazing. Great braking and response. No pedal squish what so ever. The Poterfield pads grab HELLA HARD. HUGE improvement over stock. Highly recommend these pads. They do dust more than stock but oh well lol
If anyone is into tools i HIGHY recommend the Motive Power Bleed. It made bleeding my brakes a VERY quick job with no mess. One of the best tool i have ever purchased.
