Porting intake

Hi guys ' spring is apon us ' its going to be + 7ish today and am going to wake up the mustang' ok i was wondering if i will notice a diference in power with my upper and lower intake ported with out porting the heads yet' maybe later on ill be looking for some new heads. The only thing on the car that is not stock is the exaust' my car is a 93 5.0Lx' 1 more question if anyone can tell me where or around here in Edmonton i can get them ported ' any recomendations? thanks

You'll see some gain, but not a whole lot without addressing the heads as well. The majority of the gains you're going to see are from porting the lower intake. To properly do this, you'll need to add material to the lower runners before you start cutting, in order to straiten them.

Check out this article written by tmoss to give you a better idea as to how you should approach it. He seems to be out resident expert with regards to modification of the stock lower intake.
