One should definately PAY for powdercoating.... this is what happened last trip to the car wash on mine. I used the degreaser under the hood, like I usually do and

Guess this winter I'll rip it off and clean it up good and try something different.

Paul, what did you mean buy pay for it? Did you pay someone to powdercoat it and then this happened? I bought the eastwood hot coat kit and I plan to powdercoat much of the same stuff as xYOUNG347x did.

My guess is he painted it and it got stripped by the cleaner.

I meant I had it powder coated at work (used to work there) for free in Pittsburg, KS. That was a year or so ago. I recently moved to Ozark, MO and hit it with the degreaser at the car wash and it changed the color! Made it really dark and looks like someone puked on it. I even tried to coat it all so it would all change consistantly, but no such luck.

I then hit it really hard with the sprayer and it started chipping in places. Guess it's time to strip it and do something else.

I wouldn't recommend a FREE powdercoat. LOL Anyone know of the best way to remove powdercoat?

Thats incredible for powdercoating...like they say...Its all in the prep...that obviously was prepped correctly...like sandblasted...

xYoung347x...Thats the way to do it...all in one shot...looks nice..
Most of your stock parts are powdercoated...water shouldn't harm it in the least....Try stripping your stock upper intake...you'll see what powdercoating is all about...Its tough stuff for sure....

No, not at all. The degreaser is what did it. It did the same thing to mine, only i sprayed it on a smaller portion. Looks bad.

You guys should of seen what those parts look like when I took it and sent it to him. IT WAS DISGUSTING!!! its a big turn around, you guys should try him out. I got it on a GREAT deal and hes a very quick worker.

Wow that looks incredible. I was thinking about ditching my accessory brackets for some(really expensive) March ones or something, but now maybe I'll just look into powdercoating! I can't wait to see those parts on your car. By the way, what are the specs on your 347?

If it's not done right.... that's why I was saying that if the guy is good, he's worth whatever he is charging.

My freebie is going to turn into $$$ spent just trying to remove the stuff.
