Yeah it is getting out of control for sure... $1k for a GT40 Tubular intake is about the cheapest you'll find these days. The SN95's are gonna be next up, get them while they are cheap!

There finally dropping for driver quality cars by me, the old school ford racing stuff is just stupid asking prices. And have been since covid but none of that is rare, just hoarded., If the Asking prices sold decent I'd probably unload some parts lol. Ebay doesnt help with taking 15% so the flippers ask retarded prices and and even worse shipping. I've seen some of the same parts listed for years now, price never judges because they want the one guy who needs to have it. The fox body market is tiny these days.

The industry it self is dying for the older cars, everyone's shifting to the truck market for parts sales and tons of stuff is getting discontinued from the companies being bought out by private equity, there also jacking prices of what does sell up as much as they can get away with. I've been picking up parts dirt cheap when they get discounted, just got a full stainless exhaust from long tubes to dumps for $350, headers are for a fox body but rest Isnt, still easy to cut it up to fit since its a $1k builders swap kit. Even cheap BBK long tubes are $650 now... I pretty much paid the cost of shipping and the TC series stainless butt clamps cost more by them selves then what I paid and makes fabbing it that much easier for someone who doesnt have a hydraulic pipe expander.

The EFI sbf stuff is getting stupid though, makes a coyote swap look so much better these days if your just after a decently quick and reliable driver.

Hate to say it, but I could sell Mt TFS 170s, ported and powder coated Cobra intake, custom cam, Bassani long tubes, Tremec 3550 and all supporting parts and pretty much have enough cash to do an LS swap. Some days I wonder why I don't.

I already have an aluminum 5.7 shortblock with the good heads and intake sitting in the garage, but they are scheduled for my C10 swap. On the other hand, what would a 450 rwhp Fox run in the 1/4? LOL.

I'm glad I bought mine in 2018 for a song and have been collecting parts since. Now it's just time I need. How it sits now.

Yep…… got my car in November of ‘17 for $5000. I’ve put a ton of time, work, and money into it, and have yet to touch the motor (other than cleaning/painting/ freshening up the look of it).
There’s not a day I don’t walk into the garage, and say…… “should I put it up for sale and take what the market is bringing”

But I won’t, and I’ll keep putting money into it, and one day when I’m too old to press in the clutch, I’ll sell it for dirt cheap (cause that’s what they’ll be worth again)…… and I’ll say …… “that was a fun ride”.

I'm a blessed guy for sure, my 93 was traded in and they only gave him $1000. It was put in the back lot for wholesale($650 mark up) and I bought her on 7/7/07 tax,title,and reg./smog for $2107. I have daily driven her ever since. A couple of years ago I was offered $12000 and turned it down( what I'm I gonna buy for that a used kia?) I'm happy to drive her everyday and will continue to as long as I can. Yes parts have gone wild , but no monthly payments is a fair trade off.

That’s exactly how I feel about my ‘02 F150 I’ve owned since new and daily drive. I love that truck, and every day I drive it, is money in the bank!

Facebook marketplace has muddied the water on pretty much everything on the used market.
If one person lists something worth $500 for $1000, each subsequent person does the same, then you have 10 gt40 tubular intakes all for sale and not sold at a grand. So what is it worth? Hard to tell because we never find out.
Right now there are 4 within driving distance of me, one just lowered the price to $900. While i don't want it (i had one) i'll bet he would take $750.
So some of the price increases are an illusion if you are a patient buyer, if you are impulsive, i guess a grand it is...

Bought Black Jack back in the Summer of '22 for $3,800. The guy had run the car down a bit, and I had to put a lot of elbow grease in to get it where I genuinely enjoy driving it every day. I've just paid the price to keep the project moving along. For example, I paid $600 for the beautiful TMI door panels, and felt sheepish about it. Seemed crazy to pay that much, but look now:


$945! Less than 2 years later.

I paid $650 for a used QT bellhousing to do the T56 swap. Also crazy, but they've got the market cornered as the McLeods & Lakewoods are no longer made.

The prices are high because not only has inflation hit, but foxes are back in fashion. So many people are restoring and are willing to drop 50-60k on their build. It has squeezed out the budget guy from doing as much as he could before, for sure.

I could have flipped this car for $7k pretty easily when I bought it. If you count what my spare T56 would've sold for, I have about $20k in the car, now and wouldn't get that back out. The idea of that stings a little, but then again, before I decided to daily a fox again, I was considering a Charger or similar as a daily, and would've paid even more if I had gone that route. But, I see 10-15 of them on my 30 min drive to work every morning. Can ya guess how many foxes I see? Plus, it's been really fun to get back to my roots with a simple H/C/I, stockish suspension, stock block, fox that rides & cruises nicely and is equally fun to hit the strip or the autocross with. I am genuinely excited to hop in it before and after work, each day.
