And I feel like a tard for asking this, but how the hell am I suppose to get the taillights off? The middle bulb in the right side taillight is out, and I need to replace it. I looked, and saw like 4 bolts holding it on, so I unbolted them, tugged... nada. There is also a peice of rubber that seals the water and stuff out of the lights with a wire running into it... I took that out, and unplugged the wire and still nothing. The only other thing I notice is that there is a stud or something that bolted down very tight (not with a bolt either, looks like a washer) and I dont see what else is holding it on aside from that.

So someone please, school the dumbass on taillight removal 101... its like they make the easy stuff hard, and the hard stuff easy on these things.

I would also like to know ... I tried a few weeks back to take them off and got so frustrated I almost started breaking **** ... gave up. :nonono:

Ford Service CD says:

Removal

1. Open luggage compartment door and remove luggage compartment rear trim panel to gain access to four nuts retaining rear lamp.

2. Remove four nuts retaining rear lamp to body and remove from vehicle.

3. Disconnect lamp socket and wiring from rear lamp.

4. If lamp socket and wiring is to be removed, disconnect harness connector in luggage compartment.

5. Pull wiring grommet from body and guide lamp socket and wiringthrough opening in rear body panel.

The studs on the lamp housing can get sort of "stuck" on the sheet metal holes they run through. You just have to work with it, it will come out with a little tlc. If you just want to replace a bulb, you do not have to remove the tail light. just twist the part what plugs into the back of the tail light, there should be three, and pull it out. it need to be rotated counterclockwise, i think, about 20-40 degrees. then it just comes out, like a medicine bottle top.

I think there might be 4 or 5 bolts to take off. They are goldish color if I remember right. just take them off and should pull right out.

there are these wierd thin little washers on the back side of those nuts that sometimes dont stay with the nut. That will make it super difficult to take them off. I hit the stud a few good times with a hammer. didnt hurt anything at all.
