Got a bunch of extra pictures from the engine builder. Hopefully this motor will be done in probably 2 weeks the machine work is almost completely done. Here the crank is getting balanced.

26 grams and 23 grams out on each end. Then getting drilled out to achieve a zero balance.

After the crank was balanced and my head studs finally came in. The block was setup to get torque plate honed. This is achieved by using a plate setup for close to the bore size on the motor. It is then torqued down to the motor to mimic the head being on the motor to correct any distortion.

I hope you guys are enjoying these photos as much as I do.

I'm nearing the end of this motor build got a few more pictures from the engine builder. So after honing the block with the torque plate. Cleaned the block up and mocked up the crank and 4 pistons to get a true decking. Found that the crank counterweight to piston clearance was to tight for his liking .035". So he ground and rebalanced the crank to .050 clearance. When he ground the crank also square decked the block to where all pistons read -.04" started out with -.06 to -.04 across the head surface.

One more time through the cleaner and safe to say all the machine work is finished. All holes have been re tapped and all galleys have been plugged.

Cam and cam gear has been installed as well as the main caps have been sized for bearings. The bearing will be in tomorrow and the motor shall start being assembled by the end of this week.

Here is the cam card for anybody curious about the cam that I have installed.

.040" (thought maybe you meant .004" until I saw the indicator) in the hole sure sounds like a lot (about the thickness of a head gasket). maybe I'm just used to higher compression n/a stuff though?

No turbo for this engine build? I'm tuning in late, what's the plan?

Thanks for posting the pictures Mike, i love the craftsmanship of the engine work. I want those machines for my garage, of course if I had the extra tens of thousands of dollars......

Very cool brother, you got to be about ready to squeal knowing how close it's getting.

@Davedacarpainter to say I'm anxious is an understatement I need to get back out racing it's killing me. I've kept myself busy by working on friends cars and all at my garage.

@TOOLOW91 boy I know what you got up your sleeve I need an 80 just to keep up #pulleydownandroll.

Still waiting on bearings though today he mocked up the windage tray and took care of clearance issues and assembled all the pistons he will gap rings tomorrow
