Yes i was just wondering a few things about the swap im about to do in my fox. Its a 91 4 banger and the fuel lines for it go on one side and the fuel lines on the 5.0 foxes go the other way, so i was wondering what the deal was with the 94/95 5.0 fuel lines and what i would need to buy/do to get this beast in my 91 already!

Another thing is the 94/95 a two peice harness like the fox? or is it just one big harness and that snaps straight into the ECU? Reason is i bought a 95 GT 5.0 with 68K on it with tranny and everything just didnt have the ECU and i was wondering about the harness. Thanks guys i think i screwed myself to be honest!

Bump-

I was looking at the 95ECU and it seems that it has plug-ins on both sides of the "box". One side looks like the regular fox style harness hook up type deal with the screw in the middle, and the oposite side is like a hole in the box and something that looks like a 2" NES cartridge on the other. Is my ECU missing something? Help! ;)

Thanks

there are kits to swap from a SN puter (like the T4M0) to a fox puter (a la A9L) - a search for PIH, for one, should reveal some info.

now for my two cents (Note: I am certainly NO Grady, et al). I kinda think the SN to fox swap is a step down. for the cost, i would rather get a handheld for the SN puter (I am lookin into that as we speak) and tune what I have (it is a better processor, has real diagnostics, etc).

the fox stuff is simpler - we can notice that many stand-alone systems are actually SD for simplicity. again, a step backwards (though i do like SD over MAF - I have one of each).

Just my random unsolicited two cents. :)

NR: how are things up north?

Well the thing is my car was a four banger, and the only motor i can find is out of an SN95 car, for the price/milage im looking at (1500 for motor/trans with harness, starter and all access from belt back, manifolds ect with slightly under 70K miles). I have everything i need for the SN95 swap, i *think*. Is the SN95 harness just one big o'l peice? Or is it seperate? Thanks!

you can use the sn95 motor and just get a fox harness and computer.

our engines are the same except for the upper intake has the added elbow and the front accessories are diff but should work just fine

Hissin5.0- what plug in computer deal are you talking about? examples of a few? Thanks guys.

Reason i dont really want to buy a fox harness/ecu and do the whole deal is that i have everything (i think or am close) for the direct sn95 swap. The only thing is i cant remember what the harness on the motor looked like as I'm not 100% sure if it was all there. I remember a harness was there, but if its a two peice for instance then it might have been just one peice. Is the sn95 harness two peice? one peice? more?

Thanks again

Chuck

Chuck, handhelds like the TwEECer, PMS, et al will help to remedy many of the issues that plague the 94-95 puters (and you end up with a better set up, IMHO, than an A9L, etc puter).

FWIW, should you go with the fox set up, the A9M puter has some nice tables in it (great for dragging).

good luck.

are you planning on keeping the 95 eninge your putting in there stock or are you going to upgrade it? if its stayin stock then the 94/95 computer will be just fine, it only gets picky with aftermarket cams

As far as the question on the harness, the computer has one end for the harness, the other end is used to hook up a diagnostic computer, or in most cases a performance chip. I'm actually doing the opposite, putting an 88 engine in a 94 GT, so if you need some parts let me know I've got all kinds of crap laying around, but no ECU's though.

Well i went to look at the motor today. It has the Harness on the motor but not the pigtail peice that goes to the ECU. Anyone have that i can buy? Honestly I think im just going to skip out and get a GT wrecked or something, if i can find one.

Anyone know where any wrecked foxes are? Thanks
