anyone running this catback? im about to pick up another 94 cobra and ive always had an off road H with 30 series flows and dumps on my two stangs and im wanting to try something a little different. i think i want to try an X pipe on this one with some different mufflers, anyone heard anything like this combo? also i will most likely run some aftermarket shorties

Everyone seems to love the Pypes catbacks. I have never heard or seen one but some people love them. Can't hurt to try!

i found 2 clips on streetfire but im still undecided. i tend to like my exhaust a little more raspy than most and its kinda hard to tell from a video. i think i might give it a try though. im gonna take the modding a little more slowly on this car and think everything through a little more, most likely start out with full exhaust and a shifter. then on to springs, subframes, uca's and lca's, some springs and caster camber plates. im gonna wait until im out of school to build a motor this time so i can do it exactly how i want instead of a budget build

I have their catback on my 96 and it sounds fantastic! Even through the cats it sounds really good. I've owned all the major brands in the past and like this one just as well as anything.

I didn't have an OFFICIAL Pypes cat-back with Violators, just the muffs clamped on in place on what had previously been a Dynomax Super Turbo cat-back (2.5"). I imagine it sounds exactly the same as the production cat-back, anyway ... which is to say, it sounds friggin' AWESOME.

Behind a cat'ed X- or H-pipe, it's not bad, but kinda mellow; behind an off-road X- or H-pipe, it ROCKS. Raspy and kinda hollow like a chambered muffler, but without the obnoxious Flowmaster-style drone, and with the flow characteristics of any other straight-through muffler.

Only downside is that I've heard some folks have had problems with the fitment of the tailpipes, with regards to where the hangers are located, but if you're running dumps or you can live with maybe needing to modify the hanger(s) a bit (or if you're just not anal about how your tailpipes look), then it's a helluva bargain in a cat-back.

I plan on throwing a pair of Violators on my '86 after I convert it to a manual. :nice:

EDIT: Again, video clips of Pypes exhaust do NOT do them justice at all.
