Question about buffers

The type of pads you buy depends on thebuffer. I use a Porter Cable buffer that has velcro'd on pads, it beats the hell out of the usual elastic strap type!! How involved do you want to get with this? I do mine twice a year or so and it's an ALL day task.

Im not a real fan of buffers unless your paint is in real bad shape and/or the car is EXTREMELY clean. You must be extremely careful with them, especially with black paint. Any little grain of dirt or sand will totally ruin a spot on your car before you can lift the buffer. I have used several waxes, cleaners, and polishes. By far my favorite is the Zaino show car wax/polish. http://www.Zainobros.com It shines like a polish yet protects like a wax. I never realized how my car could shine till I used it. I also like to use Meguiar's Paint Cleaner a few times a year to clean off the grime before I apply the Zaino.

the paint cleaner is very nice...you should try a clay bar to clean it before using Zaino(which is AMAZING btw) i washed the car real well one day then used a clay bar...and was SHOCKED at what still came off the paint!...

Yea I was always skeptical of the clay bars until I has some impossible to remove water spots. Even windex would not remove the spots from my windshield. One swipe with a clay bar took them right off. I love those things now!!!
