question on what plug to use on gt40p

Hey guys, I work at advance auto parts. I wanna do a tune up, and want motorcraft plugs so I was checking out the computer, and looked up plugs for a 98' Explorer, but they did not list any copper plugs. So I looked up for a 93 cobra and came up with the sp-447 plugs old number is the AWSF-32C, got those and gapped them to .054. Just wonderig if these would work fine for the p heads. I saw some people use the 764's or the 104's on p heads but i didnt look to what motorcraft number they cross too, so should I be fine with the ones I got?

And I can get a set of 8mm Autolite spark plug wires for free, should i just get those or is it worth it to spend the 40 bucks and get the 9mm frpp's?

autolite 764's with the gapping of your choice...

the autolite plug wires work fine as well, unless you want to spend more money..

It's the same plug as the autolite.

FYI Motorcraft > Autolite. The specs are tighter on the motorcraft plugs. Any plug that's resistance values vary too far from the range for motorcraft end up as Autolite plugs.

K thanks guys, I saw your post before when i was searching around Mike thats why i got those. I had the autolite 764's in before and they were fine but wanted to go motorcraft this time around. I had the ford wires on before but they touched my header and burned a hole in them so I went with the autolites, also got another msd cap and rotor, car runs awesome now, dosen't sputter like before

I looked at my old plugs and they looked good but had a little carbon building up on them, just a little but anyone know what causes this?

I heard that one and I agree; the motorcrafts superior to autolites IMO. I tried autolites on two different combos and they sucked, I did a tune up with autolites one time and my mpg went down slightly. Then I'll put motorcrafts back in and it runs smoother and what ever little bit of power and mileage returns. The two plugs they cost the same, so you might as well go for the motorcrafts.
