Im only up to date on the late model 4.6's. I have no knowledge WHAT SO EVER about 5.0s. Im currently looking to buy an 87-93 5.0 5spd. First off my goals are to start off with a quick light to light car but also be able be my 100mi weekly driver. I would also like to go to the track sometime to see what thats all about. Eventually I would like to end up with an low 11sec car and a quick street racing sleeper car. I wont ever have a turbo or nitrous. I would like to have a nice N/A set up first then get the motor built and then add a supercharger. Only want to be able to run off pump gas. My questions are:
What do they run in the 1/4 stock?
How much do they weigh stock?
What parts are good to lower my weight on the car?
What is the ideal gear ratio for a N/A set up?
What is the ideal gear ratio for a Supercharged set up?
Can these motors have 300rwhp on the stock 5.0 and still be N/A?
What size rearend do they have?
What spline are the axles?
What kind of transmission comes in the 5spd?
What type of exhaust set up is the best for hp gains?
Which midpipe sounds better x or h?
What cat back sounds best?
How well do the trannmissions hold up?
What are the best mods to start off with?
What is the power limit for the stock bottom end?
What kind of regular maintenance is needed to keep them running strong?
How can you tell if they are ragged out?
How much does it cost to go from a stock 5.0 to a 250-300rw N/A motor?
What is the biggest rim and tire you can fit without any issues on a stock car?
What are the best suspension mods?
If I build a high horsepower n/a built motor with a blower on top of that at 15+ psi can I acheive 500rw+?
Im sure there are many more questions but I too tired to go on. If you have any other helpful input please list the suggestions.

k im gonna take a crack at this
What do they run in the 1/4 stock? 14.5 ish?
How much do they weigh stock? 3200-3300?
What parts are good to lower my weight on the car? fiberglass hood, trunklids.
What is the ideal gear ratio for a N/A set up? 3.73 or 4.10
What is the ideal gear ratio for a Supercharged set up? 3.73 or 4.10
Can these motors have 300rwhp on the stock 5.0 and still be N/A? yep. there strong enough to hold foced induction and with a head, cam, intake manifolds, and bolt ons you should be well over 300
What size rearend do they have? 8.8 inch
What spline are the axles? 28
What kind of transmission comes in the 5spd? some ford 5 speed?
What type of exhaust set up is the best for hp gains? open headers, in the real world, x pipes have better torque than h pipes, longtubes over shorties, and straight through mufflers as opposed to chambers
Which midpipe sounds better x or h? h
What cat back sounds best? depends on what you want
How well do the trannmissions hold up? pretty well.
What are the best mods to start off with? exhaust, cold air, tie up the suspension
What is the power limit for the stock bottom end? 400?
What kind of regular maintenance is needed to keep them running strong? oil changes
How can you tell if they are ragged out? they burn oil, they run like ass.
How much does it cost to go from a stock 5.0 to a 250-300rw N/A motor? does this mean with a new block and bottom end? you can buy a good 302-331 cubic inch for what 3000-4000?
What is the biggest rim and tire you can fit without any issues on a stock car? on foxes many people think 18's are too big, but it can be done, in the back 9 iches is pretty wide, and 9 in the front works with minor rubbing. also depends on tires.
What are the best suspension mods? subframe connectors, strut tower, lower chassis brace, shocks coils, control arms
If I build a high horsepower n/a built motor with a blower on top of that at 15+ psi can I acheive 500rw+? without breaking a sweat
Im sure there are many more questions but I too tired to go on. If you have any other helpful input please list the suggestions.

if im wrong about any of this stuff someone correct me

500rwhp will be pushing it majorly on your stock bottom end. Most people go around 450rwhp at the most. Good luck.
Wanna trade your 04 for my 95 5.0? It's stock!
:) Vert!

(I wish)

if you have a ****ty tune, then yes.

I am NOT putting down 93 Mustangs, dont take it personal, Geeze! Look at just about any form of Motorsports and you will see that they run Forged Pistons, and they sure dont run their vehicle in ****ty Tune.
