Im not so much here to tell everyone about a little race with words..me and an older mustang were messin w/ eachother on a road last night..i thought it might of been kinda slow but that sumbitch was fast!..it was definitely a fastback looked like late 60's but real clean and stock on the outside..do they come w/ 289's or 351's..also can u work those 289 motors like a 302?

if it helps the back was real long and had those slits kinda behind the driver/passenger windows? are they fast like that out of the factory or u think it mighta been worked

this all depends on what car u have lol if u have a honda or something.but yes, 289's cna be worked just like 302's there are 289's making 400+ hp.....you just never know, and by the description that was a fastback and should have come with a 289 factory

Judging by your description it was a 67/68 fastback. The 65/66 fastbacks did not go all the way back and had "big slits" instead of little ones. 69/70 Mustang fastbacks (sic) did not have slits at all.

67 fastbacks could have a 200cid 6 cylinder, any one of 3 different 289s, or a 390 in front of a 3 speed manual/auto or 4 spd manual in the case of a V8.

68s had almost the same except for the introduction of the 302 that replaced the 289s that year and the 428 Cobra Jet. The 428 is quite fast even by today's standards in the rolling start racing that you describe.

He may have been easily impresseed if he were in a VW bug. I was speak generally about the masses, and not a 428, Boss, CJ rocket sled or anything else out or the norm.

All classic mustangs are just slow secrataries cars and there is no way to make them fast :p :p :p

Most were by today's standards, but they can be made faster than stock with a little help.

My 3.1 buick could take most unmolested models.

well i guess this guy had his worked somewhat..i have a 93 5.0 w/ some bolt-ons..its not the fastest in the world but its capable of high 13's. either way it was a beautiful car and i was surprised when we both punched it he was pulling on me..i want one too!!

Weight has a lot to do with it.

I don't believe it. Next your gonna try tellin me these things can easily have 340 rwhp, 4 wheel power brakes, and 6 speed transmissions. NO WAY!!!
