rearend gears(8.8)

I think I have a set of used 3.73 gears out in the shop.
I really want to put them in my '91 stang.
Stock gears are awful at the dragstrip.
This is for an 8.8 ford.
How big of a deal are these to install?
What all do I need to install them?
I have heard it's tough to keep a used set of gears
from howling.
What do you guys think?

This is the site I used for help. The install is not bad at all if you're using ford gears. The most important highlights I can think of that you should pay attention to are pinion depth, backlash, pinion torque, and contact pattern. Good luck.

ya, its not that hard of an install, you can probally use all the same bearings and shims, but u will need a new pinion seal and a colapsiblle fitting.
