Received hate mail about starting my car..

I would file a police report and setup a camera. If this were me I would probably go door to door with the letter in hand and ask people if they sent it and while doing so I would make it a point to mention that I have installed a camera and filed a police report. Those two things would most likely scare people away from messing with your car or calling the police.

Also this person is not very bright if they are actually writing the letters by hand because if anything were to actually happen to you or your car then the letter has the chance of being traced via the writing style.

I think the motion light should be enough. I would idle the car from now on away from your parents house. No need to make the situation worse.

If you have the stock mid pipe, I would consider putting it on until you move out of your parents house.

this build is costing ten times what the first one cost. the car is mostly done, its the fuel, and motor that are running the costs so high. everything HAS to be ARP2000 this and that. bigger radiator, freaking everything. converter will cost near 1700-2000.00 by itself.

Calling the fuzz in the A.M. to file a report. All of my friends have suggested installing a dummy or finding a cheap I.R. and run the feed to my laptop. I have had the OR X and Magnapacks since November too BTW.

I am in a middle class neighborhood and there are several Harley's around the block. I will not change my exhaust! There is only one family nearby me and they stated the car is fine. I am not revving the piss out of it or racing it in any way. The car doesn't like above 1500 rpms right after startup anyways!

I am planning on staying here until I find a better job or get promoted where I am now. Could be 2 months or probably for another year at the most.

If said person wants me to do something about it, they will come talk to me or my family and not be *******s about it. I understand having a loud car, but if I were to be reasonable, can she not have her lawn guys blow all of the dead grass over my freshly washed and waxed car?

Just as the guy sending the letter is being crazy and unreasonable, I also think it's unreasonable to expect neighbors to be OK with really loud pipes at 4:30 in the morning, especially those that have small kids or kids that go to school. I think if you had the exhaust toned down just a bit, you could at least say you did your part to give the neighbors a break, most of whom I'm sure are nice, normal people, unlike the one crazy person that sends you letters.

So I suppose that it's unreasonable for my neighbor to think that Im OK with his dogs who bark erratically at 5AM too right? He should be considerate and get rid of his dogs, right?

To the OP, weenie neighbors suck. I think the game cam is a legit idea incase they actually decide to do something stupid. Then they can buy you a fresh set of much nicer tires.

When I still lived with my parents in high school I had a really loud exhaust (x pipe with 40s flowmasters). I had to leave for school every morning around 6:30. A X Marine about 4 houses down told me I woke him up every morning. I even tried to be very quite. I asked him if he wanted me to do something about it and his response was the best. "Hell no! That's the best alarm clock ever"

There was a POS geo metro with a flowmaster in my apartments. He drove that piece of crap hard everywhere he went, including the parking lots. Every morning, he would leave and set off my neighbors car alarm because he was driving his loud 3cyl like a complete ass. I think he must have left finally.
