With the bay finished, I started tearing into the motor. I finally got my heads back from the machine shop. Friday I bought a set of FRPP shortys with 500 miles on 'em from CL for $175. Yesterday I did some sandblasting on accessories brackets and valve covers (after a lot of Tail Strip II).

Well it's been awhile since an update. I've been busy getting the engine back together, painting, blah blah blah... I'm sick of working on this thing!

The doors have new pins, bushings, rollers, spring tensioners, and strikers. It amazing to have doors that stay open and shut solid. I also put in new courtesy light switches. In the hatch I finally bought a spare tire cover and the mushroom and wing nuts that hold up the cargo net. A friend who does porting is working on the lower intake, so I'm hoping to get the engine down in the car in two weeks.

We call them wheels around here, and they're FR500s.

I love the FR500's. Wish their backspacing was IRS friendly.

Holy Sludge, I missed that. I know how clean you car is, I'd never guessed previous owner rarely changed the oil.

The new stuff looks great.

The sludge was the worst in the valley. I did a lot of scraping and then brushed a lot of parts cleaner. The PCV screen was clogged horribly. Then down in the bottom end the pickup time had a bad kink that almost pinched it shut. I installed a new OEM oil pump and pickup tube for good measure.

Show me the "technical" definition where a wheel means rim w/ tire?

Cause this is how Websters defines it:
1wheel

noun, often attributive \ˈhwēl, ˈwēl\
Definition of WHEEL

1
: a circular frame of hard material that may be solid, partly solid, or spoked and that is capable of turning on an axle
2
: a contrivance or apparatus having as its principal part a wheel: asa : a chiefly medieval instrument of torture designed for mutilating a victim (as by stretching or disjointing)b : bicyclec : any of many revolving disks or drums used as gambling paraphernaliad : potter's wheele : steering wheel
3
a : an imaginary turning wheel symbolizing the inconstancy of fortuneb : a recurring course, development, or action : cycle
4
: something (as a round flat cheese) resembling a wheel in shape
5
a : a curving or circular movementb : a rotation or turn usually about an axis or center;specifically : a turning movement of troops or ships in line in which the units preserve alignment and relative positions as they change direction
6
a : a moving or essential part of something compared to a machine <the wheels of government>b : a directing or controlling forcec : a person of importance especially in an organization <a big wheel>
7
: the refrain or burden of a song
8
a : a circuit of theaters or places of entertainmentb : a sports league
9
plural slang : a wheeled vehicle; especially : automobile
10
plural slang : legs
— wheel·less adjective

Nothing in there about including a tire............just sayin'

Why do I have to wait a week?
And since when is the ASE an authority on what makes a wheel,....a wheel? I haven't had a minute of tech school training, and all I gotta do to get ASE certified is pay the fee, and take the test. That doesn't make me an expert though.

Speaking of wheels,...I love FR500's that are on your car OP,..done w/ me piratin'irate:

because ASE is by the book correct way for doing things in our automotive world..so TECHNICALLY a wheel is a tire and rim together.
