i did the same basic project this winter except i spent a 100 plus hours hiding wires and and i installed the inner fender panels from scot rod fabricating. it turned out awesome but i dont blame you for going the route you did. yours looks better then stock ever could have! i went stupid and painted my reef blue car orange a couple years ago but came back to reality last year and put it back to reef blue i love your tail lights and wheels i might just have to find some taillights like that. here is what my engine tuned out like. the cold air is going to get ditched when i pic on that i like to go through the inner fender tht one was just to get it driving.

Thanks for all the great comments, guys. I've ran out of money for the car, so I've just been enjoying driving it. Next up will be a larger TB, Trac-Loc rebuild, and rear disc brake swap. Hopefully I'll get it to the track soon and see what I gained.

ReefBlueHatch please tell me a little more about the motor setup- What did you mill the heads to? what kind of rockers did you run? push rod length? How do you like the tfs stage 1? how is drivabilty? Im asking because i got a set of gt40 3 bars from a 93-95 lightning coming for 200 bucks . I want to run the same cam your using as well.

Edit - last but not least what valve springs you used as well

I dropped my heads off at the machine shop and had them do a three angle valve job. The shop called me a few days later and said the heads had some warp, so I told them to mill them. Unfortunately I cannot remember how much they milled. I had them order the recommended Comp springs along with new guides, locks, and seals. My bill came to $500 including removing a broke intake bolt.

I'll dig out the recipe for the Comp part number, but I wish I would have done the TFS spring kit because of price. I am currently running stock pushrods and 1.6 rockers because my budget ran dry. I love the TFS stage 1 so far. To me, it drives like a stock car and the idle is milder than I expected. I wish I had more to tell you about the cam, but it's the only thing I've ever drove with a "performance" cam and I'm defiantly not a cam guru. As far as drivability, it's been great.

My buddy had self-ported GT40's and Explorer intake, long tubes, ect and was running consistent low 12s on M/T Drs with his Reef Blue GT.

Hey Grover, why is my car smarter? Anytime you want to trade, just let me know, LOL. BTW, I still can't believe our cars were built on the same day.

Here's a cool pic I recently acquired. I didn't really take any photos when I first bought my car, but I recently ran into the PO and I asked if he had any old photos. He had just this one for the CL ad.
