Ripped off by MU, need to vent

i just got seriously got ripped by mustangs unlimited. I went down there cause theyre only about 30 minutes from me. I ordered the ROH ZS 17x8.5 4 lug rims and the total was like almost 1,000 bux. But before i ordered them i asked are you sure you can get them because the manufacturer themelves dont even sell them or make them anymore, they go yea no problem at all we can get them. Ohh yea but even before I went there i called and talked to 2 different people and they were all"positive" they can get them, they talked to their manager:bs: . Well that was 3 days ago...

I just got a letter from them in the mail saying, quote, "due to circumstances beyond our control we are not able to attain the product you requested." :nonono: You can be assured theyre going to be getting a good phone call tomorrow.

The main reason this kills me is because my car is 95% done from a 3 year restoration and now my rims that i have searched for for litterly(?) about a year cant be bought. I have looked under rocks for these things. Now i have to order something else i dont even want...

Sorry for the rant but i am so angry i cant see right now, just thought i would let you know.

whoa, if you knew they were discontinued a year or so ago by the manufacturer, why would you think that they would have them? sometimes the places like this dont get the memos from the manufacturers that they have been excecuted, it happens all the time, ive gotten a couple of e-mails from sacramento mustang saying that parts had been cancelled. Your only option would be ebay or a private seller now, dont sweat it, they CAN be found!! In good shape as well!!

your not alone... i got a set of painted silver ford racing cobra r's....4 lug.. came off the ups truck and I was very excited... too bad they were 5 lug, granted they took them back and covered shipping, it took an extra 7 days to complete the transaction.

Another bad experience with mustangs unlimited..

ordered oem heater hose (metal pipes on lower intake).. and other misc items... got everything except the heater tubes... arghh... backordered.... no big deal, i got an email saying they had been shipped 2 days later.... great...
a week rolls by, I call to basically say wtf... "hey umm yea the part was damaged when it fell off the ups truck.. we are waiting to get refunded". I simply asked..."when was I going to be informed of this? " and there was phone silence.
I simply asked for a refund on my credit card and I would just refinish an old set of heater tubes. NO GO , they claimed their policy is not to refund the customer until they get their claim filled by ups. I told them I thought that was a horrible policy for customer satisfaction. After a month, it still remains on my credit card statement. I find it hard to believe they are that poor when it comes to customer satisfaction. I will be calling again , this time with a refund no matter what who I have to talk to.

Other bad experiences with Mustangs Unlimited - POST people deserve to know about these mail order companies and their mantality.

I hate it when **** like this happens to people.
Looks like mustangs unlimited has a reputation:mad:

I thought that maybe if MU had the rims they were overstock or something, i saw them and just got excited, and i have been looking on ebay, our classifieds here and everywhere and cant seem to find them, so if you know of anybody, please by all means, let me know

anytime i go down there, they NEVER have what i want. they also refuse to price match. i asked them one time before i went down there if they could price match something, they said just bring us a hardcopy of it and we will. i got down there and they said they couldn't do it. i was PISSED. their customer service sucks

i always call ahead on items, but their physical inventory compared to their computer inventory isnt accurate i guess

I'm not a fan of Mustangs Unlimited either. I would only order from them if I had no other alternative. They are expensive and they rip you on shipping. Before I knew how freakin close I lived to them, (45 minutes) I ordered a speedo gear that weighs maybe and ounce or two. They charged me 8 bucks for ground shipping which was more than the cost of the gear, and then slapped a 32 cent stamp on an envelope and mailed it to me US post. I now no longer do business with them. Rant Over

I have had ok experiences with them. They are only like 10 min. from my house and they sometimes mess up my stuff but I just go somewhere else, ATL is like performance shop central. I got my ABC cobra bumper through them and it was good quality and they had it in stock.

I like how close they are and the fact I can return things if it's not right, and it only costs me 45 minutes or so. I think the fact they sent you a message when they found out they couldnt get them was a good thing. Sure in your eyes it was a waste of time and your mad, but inr eality waiting 3 days to find out is nothing. I have waited 5 times that long on stuff before being told I cant get it.

I have had inconvinient experiences there, and know they over charge, but to say they have a bad reputation, Im sure compared to most they dont.

Not to mention they make a killing when they have their shows!

a lot of the kids behind the counter don't have a clue sometimes. i went there to get my hood and i called ahead as i usually do and they said they had a few in stock. i get down there and buy it and they wheel it out and i open it up, there's chips and a big chunk missing from the front. i ask if they can switch it for another one and they tell me it's the only one :bang:

i then ask how do you expect to sell something like this? the kid goes i dunno, sometimes they come in like that. i now ask them to physically touch the part in their inventory before i go down there and buy something, which is rare now a days.

summit has awesome customer service and will pricematch pretty much anything. i'd rather wait 2-3 days

yea i guess i could say it was good that the responce was quick but they should have known in the first place.

Yes MU does make a killing on their shows, there are always soooo many people there, and the counter is loaded

1991 VERT, yea your right, some of the kids behind the counter just have no clue. Yes, some of them do and are experienced but others should just be working somewhere else lol
