Yea yea I know its been a while...Havent had much time to work on the car.
Anyways, I had the romac honed out a bit at a local engine builders...they charged me $25 bux. It still didnt slip on at all without heat. But I put it in boiling water for like 20+min. and it went on up to the keyway. I put the crank bolt in and it went the rest of the way pretty easy .

Moral of the story, hone it out a bit if needed. It's better then trying to force it on and destroying the keyway and/or balancer.

I forget who mentioned the honing thing to me but thanks alot.

Well now Mr Grady, it aint much hotter out here than it is out your way. I actually just allow the rivers of sweat to coat the inside of the balancer and then it slides right on.

Hey

If man was intended to deal with all that snow
God would have made him with big feet like a Hobbit

besides

You guys put your car away for a good part of the year

It's 96* right now. Grady and my 'non-driving season' is the summer - it's too freakin hot to drive.

Go-stang, I do feel for ya. For a number of years my DD was a sportbike. It was miserable in the heat (fairing heat from the fan burning the legs) and miserable in the winter. I never rode in the cold without a turtleneck (when my neck gets cold, I get sick). There's a reason I went from Alaska to Arizona.

Correction! Most of us guys put the car away for the winter....I put performance snow tires on it.

I love passing by e55 AMG's and other expensive high performance whatnots cuz their drivers think their traction and stability control crap is enough to get them thru the winter on their summer or all season tires.

BTW I mentioned the winter driving to ed when I got the cam ground so well see how well it fires up in freezing weather.

Yea grady, I got some nice gloves, a leather jacket with a liner in it (I still wear layers), Waterproof riding pants and boots (they keep my lower half really toasty), and a waterproof fleece balaclava (head sock) and the helmet of course. When I have all the gear on I'm warm down to 40 deg. at up to 90mph (tested and proven). I dont ride much when its under 40deg. once it has snowed, since I worry about ice patches. Man I get some funny looks when I'm on the bike in december in chicago. Then again I get looks in the stang that time of year too.

BTW grady, I welcome the cooling fan in the winter it helps keep the junk warm. But yea I hate it in the summer in rush hour traffic. I usually get a mean case of schwetty balls.
