Last weekend I put a 1 inch spacer on my carb and rubber ring on top of air filter base housing to get it to butt up to hood - kind of a ram air set up. Got a little hesitation afterward - increase fuel/air about 1/4 turn out and seemed to run good.
In any case today started up car - choked kicked in as normal and starting reving car - all of a sudden before I could blip the pedal to shut off choke it started running rough like it was not getting any gas. As I started giving gas it started blowing some white smoke in back. Took for a ride and and after a couple miles problem gone. Got home and pulling in garage started doing same thing running a little rough and whilte smoke. Rev'd a couple times and now okay. New carbs, lines, pump etc. last year - not sure if spacer a coincidence but been running all spring fine.
What do you think - I'm pretty sure it is fuel related. Fuel filter? Piece of dirt working way out from moving carb around when changing spacer
