Alright after all the reserch and input from my hanai faimly here on :SNSign: I have for sure decided when funds permit I am going with a KB 2.2L twin screw for my Stang I was thinking going TT but after hotmustang331s little fender bender I decided against it. Yeah big power but I really dont need the car to go faster or be a dyno queen, and I just dont care for the centrifigals. Dont like the way they look under the hood, looks aftermarket. The positive displacement is the way for me, I want the engine to act like a larger motor and have ALOT more low end torque. Besides Jim Belle was very nice and helpful and will throw in $750 in extras for me The only downside is there are not any intercoolers for that setup on my car. I figure I can give the car a more agressive tune and run 10-12psi if I add a Snow Performance meth/water injection kit with the safe boost that pulls timing out if the tank runs dry. That way I can have it act like an intercooler after 6-7 psi and wont need the injection below that pressure.

So here are the questions:
1. Anyone else doing this?
2. Does this sound like a plausiable idea?
3. With a boost-a-pump will I need a larger fuel pump and injectors?
4. If so would the BBK 255lph specific for boosted 96-98 Cobras work with 42lb injectors, or could I go with smaller injectors?

Thanks y'all and long live :SNSign:

I'm not a fan of KB's on 96-98 Cobras. They generate more heat than the centrificals and don't make as much power. Adding the methanol injection will help cool inlet temperatures up to 100* depending boost, outside temperatures and engine temperatures. But they are good for low end torque and they are quiet at idle not giving away you are boosted until you get going down the road.

I run 42# injectors with a 255lph in tank pump and a 255lph in line pump with NO FMU. FMU's can fail and you won't know it, next thing you know you will detonate. A boost-a-pump is not really sufficient enough to support all that on it's own. I would not recommend going smaller on the injectors. It is better to use bigger injectors and have a good tune than max out small injectors and live on the edge.

Thanks SVT, you are always a great help. I looked at centris (based on you) but I want the quiet sleeper sound and after driving a couple stock Termis I love how our little engine feels like a 427CJ I really dont need huge power as the car has already seen 150 and could go faster but it has larger balls than me. I want 0-100 performance and to wipe the smile off the smug F body owners. I hate to lose the Cobra intake b/c its so nice but the twins look stock so its cool. I guess I could make a few bucks off the intake

the 4v is a higher revving breather, even if it is just a B head. I say centri, there are plenty quiet or loud styles. roots/twin screw causes more strain on parts, and usually costs more.

CobraRed I hear ya and always respect your input so mabey im saying it wrong, I WANT LOW END OFF IDLE RIGHT NOW POWER . Not looking for high end power, I want fun usable street driven power. I am going positive displacement, if anyone knows of a company other that KB for a twin screw with an intercooler I would love to check it out. Now all S/C or turbos put more strain on an engine, why is that always the first thing you and SVT say about positive displacement s/c? Is it because they give boost faster? Thats why I want it, to make my little light engine have the low end torque of a big block. Ford went that route on the Cobra, why that and not a centrifigal? As far as cost, I get a brand new 2.1L with the flowzilla intake, new higher flowing lower plenum, a boost-a-pump, a boost-a-spark, 3 different pullies, the tool for the pullies, a dual tune chip (wich I wont use cus I want a LiveWire), another crank pully (forgot the size) for more boost options and the Kenn Belle CAI kit all for $3878 shipped. Sounds cheaper than any new centri I have seen
