I just received my NOVI 1200 system passenger side mount from paxton last week and started to put it on this weekend, everything was going smooth until I got to the carb inclosure, I am running an Edelbrock 289 intake which is my first problem and an MSD billet dizzy, well the dizzy is to big and the back plug hits the inclosure"more like dead against it" and with the intake I have there is about an 1/8th of an inch clearance between carb inclosure and hood, Questions are what type of intake are you running, and what type of dizzy, this is in a 67 with a stock hood.
Thank You

I BEEN ASKIN FOR HELP ON THE 1200 OFF N ON FOR OVER A YEAR N NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE ANY REPLIES. I DO SEE EM USE A LOT OF THEM ON CHOP CUT REBUILD SHOW THO SO I GUESS THEY R OK .I DECIDED TO GO TO PAINT INSTEAD TILL I LEARN MORE ABOUT EM. PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW URS DOES THX INDY

These are made to bolt on to your stock set-up and it will clear. However if you have an aftermarket set-up, you obviously have to consider clearance issues.

The MSD Pro-Billet works fine. You do need a small diameter distributor close to stock dimensions.

1/8" is pretty tight under the hood. If you don't want to change the hood, you may have to either change the intake, or mill down the surface of the intake. I'm not sure how that carb will do in the enclosure but do tell how it goes...

I have to call MSD Monday and see if the crab style dizzy cap with work on a Ford, as usual everything is made for chevy, if so then that will take care of my dizzy issue if not then I will buy one of the small diameter billet dizzy, as far as the intake goes I am going to order a Holley Street Dominator the fornt high on it is 3.08 inches where as the edelbrock is 3.5 inches and the rear is 4.5 compared to 4.75, while this doesn't sound like much after I mill the mounteing surface down on the Holley and the carb box I will have 1 " of clearance from the hood, also by doing this I end up with the runners being the same hight from the carb as the mounting surface inside the carb inclosure is 1 " thick so all and all I think it will all work out, I knew the money I saved on this kit would be spent somewhere else but I was hoping it wouldn't be on replacing things I already had.

one other note, nothing on this car is original setup I was taking a small gamble and worse case it should cost me about 375$, but maybe help others, may end up having msd part #8582 dizzy and edelbrock 289 intake for sale cheap if nothing works out :)

late model 302 roller,gt-40p heads,performer 289 intake,msd dizzy,6al, AOD tranny and 8.8" rear

I thought about a bonnet but since this was the first time I've tried this I figured I would stick with the carb inclosure as I am not sure how everything will work, hopefullt I will get the rest going tonight for a test fit, my Bigs carb arrived today :)

One cool mod we did to the install was using a late model Vortech turn tube to get cooler air. It uses the same filter.

Although it's not a cold air set-up, it gets much colder air than sitting right over the header.

I seen that on a web sight I'm assuming Mustang Depot I am definitly going to do that, when I first got the kit I thought it kinda strange that it oulled air in fron just above the headers, I ordered my new dizzy and new intake should be here tomorrow so hopefully I can get this thing going, nice setup there, looks very clean

Yea, I was seriously looking at that Vortech turn tube for the impeller inlet, because it clears really nicely, but I didn't like the way it pinches down at the radius either. I ended up making a 3" mandrel bent tubing that exits the rear of the battery apron, and then re-enters right about where your filter is also.
I'll find a camera and post a picture.
That's an awfully big pulley.....just kidding!! :D
It looks GREAT !!

N/A 80 miles on the motor, no smoke yet. We're temporarily running the brake booster with that line. The power brake booster and mc is being replaced next month the the JMC triple res. set-up when we put the TKO III in. We'll be there on Sept 9th for the install with John and the boys down at JMC. Aside from our business relationship, John and Julio from JME have become pretty good friends of mine. They're good people...

Oh, the pulley :)

Yeah were still runnin the supplied pulley at 7.5 lbs. They have a 10 lb pulley kit but we're working on hooking up what we have already. At this rate I would be buying tires once a week!!!
