So I'm not sure where to start with the swap tho...
I figure first will have to be prepping the 80 coupe to receive parts...
I dunno.... maybe fuel and brake lines first... but where to start after that?
The 80 is a Ghia Coupe shell... no front fenders, hood, or front bumper... so it needs almost everything.
I'll take pictures, I'm going to check it out tomorrow. And then any help would be excellent... I'd like to make it a 5 speed car, but I have an excellent AOD and no t-5 parts... so maybe later? unless I can pick up a 5 speed and everything i need for the swap cheap.

Picking up the roller tonight, I went on a trip to the junk yard, picked up and lx bumper and a fender for 100 bucks... not the cheapest, but pretty nice... I also picked up a seat belt for my dad's van for 8 bucks. he went to the dealership and they told him 491 plus installation... so it was a success...
I'll start soon on the build and teardown.. pics to follow soon.
Still have to pick up a K-member... although mine might be okay, just need to tear down and get a chance to look over it good.

Sorry to hear about the damage; hopefully you feel better and are over it...that said...how do you smash your car at an autox? Were there poles or fences really close to the course?

Well its not so easy to find an 85-86 GT bumper, plus 4 eye hood, fenders and then harness for the lights for 4-eye lights....
I am taking parts off of my 91 LX and putting them on the roller, I am all about saving a 4 eye to be a 4 eye... but saving a straight 6 1980 Ghia empty shell should be enough to get me into heaven, even if I am putting my 93 cobra taillights and aero front end... If i didn't have a baby on the way pretty soon I would save money and buy the right parts to keep it a 4 eye... however the wife is being kind enough to let me have then next month or two to devote to getting the car running before the baby comes
Oh and thought of a thread name...
I shall call it... Project Phoenix.

In that case, it makes no sense to go to those legnths in order to keep it a 4 eye, it makes perfect sense to swap stuff from your 91

Hehe... It has most of a blue interior, and all the suspension, no fenders hood bumper or lights.
So will the 80's front suspension and A-arms work with the v8??
